Turns out, the manufactured outrage machine on the far Right is ignoring the reality that vaccines have been mandated for a long time already, which begs the question, why is this one mandate so bothersome for them? The answer is likely because this is the one vaccination requirement that could make or break Biden, and they're shooting for the latter.

Just check out how Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) is pandering to ignorant America about this, claiming there will be a revolt over it. And then look at how he responds to the dozen or so Twitter responses that point out he was required to be vaccinated when he joined the Navy, where was the revolt then? He just responds glibbly like Atlanticmike would, "Ha ha look how I triggered the Libs."

But this can go down into the annals of Republican hypocrisy again. Last year when Trump suggested quarantining the entire state of New York (because it was the worst COVID hotspot and a blue state) there was nary a quibble from these same people harping about lost freedoms for the unvaccinated morons who still roam the countryside. Because authoritarianism is cool when it comes from the guy you voted for.

I've stopped expecting Americans to be consistent in their ideology. In fact, I've stopped expecting Americans to even think about their ideology in anything but a superficial way. The government is evil for trying to control what we do with our bodies (take a vaccine to protect yourself and everyone around you), but the government should control what we do with our bodies when we get pregnant (have that baby you don't want).

Most Americans seem to think nuance is for eggheads and consistency is a nuisance.

The only thing consistent here is that they feel the virus has as much right to life as a fetus.

Covid is a very smart virus. It knows to only spread from unvaccinated Republican voters but not unvaccinated illegal immigrants. And because Covid believes in social justice, it chose not to be spread during the BLM riots of 2020 since the cause was more important than stopping the spread of Covid.
