That comment about Bicentennial Man is a joke Robin Williams himself would be proud of.

Shut up!

This is one of the rare cases I agree with bcspace.
Please evaluate it in the light of this rarity...
- Whenever a poet or preacher, chief or wizard spouts gibberish, the human race spends centuries deciphering the message. - Umberto Eco
- To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin. - Cardinal Bellarmine at the trial of Galilei

I disagree. It may not be his best movie, but I liked it!

Don't forget his oneliners...

About divorce:
"Ah, yes, divorce... from the Latin word meaning to rip out a man's genitals through his wallet."
"You know the difference between a tornado and divorce in the south? Nothing! Someone is losing a trailer."

About sex (any form):
"God gave men a penis and a brain, but unfortunately not enough blood supply to run both at the same time."
"I like my wine like my women -- ready to pass out."
"Is it rude to Twitter during sex? To go 'omg, omg, wtf, zzz'? Is that rude?"
"You could talk about same-sex marriage, but people who have been married (say) 'It’s the same sex all the time.'"

About Jews:
"I was once on a German talk show, and this woman said to me, 'Mr. Williams, why do you think there is not so much comedy in Germany?' And I said, 'Did you ever think you killed all the funny people?''
"And some people say Jesus wasn't Jewish. Of COURSE he was Jewish! 30 years old, single, lives with his parents, come on! He works in his father's business, his mom thought he was God's gift, he's Jewish! Give it up!"

Guns:
"In England, if you commit a crime, the police don't have a gun and you don't have a gun. If you commit a crime, the police will say 'Stop, or I'll say stop again'."

God:
"Do you think God gets stoned? I think so . . . look at the platypus."

Last but not least, about this site:
"Never pick a fight with an ugly person, they've got nothing to lose."

I have to go with Jumanji as one of his best that comes to mind. It is classic Williams at his best. I also loved Insomnia, one of his best, along with the Fisher King. Williams and Bridges knocked that one out of the park. One of his lesser known movies, "The Final Cut", is also one of my favorites, which I think I'll rewatch this week, since I haven't seen it in a while.
Riding on a speeding train; trapped inside a revolving door;
Lost in the riddle of a quatrain; Stuck in an elevator between floors.
One focal point in a random world can change your direction:
One step where events converge may alter your perception.

I have not yet seen that movie, but it is on Netflix, and I intend to see it soon because of your recommendation.

I finally got around to watching The Fisher King on Netflix, and I agree that it is great movie! It's sad that Robin Williams own story ended so much less happily than did that movie.

When I first heard about Robin Williams' suicide, that movie popped into my mind. I think it gave a little insight into the real Robin Williams.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

After having seen the movie myself, I find that quite understandable.

Absolutely! He didn't get to show off his darker sense of humor in most of his roles, this movie was fantastic.

More than any movie, I will miss the greatest improvisational comedian I ever saw. You often found yourself laughing at something he said three jokes ago. By the time you caught up, he was around the corner and three jokes ahead again. When Williams revealed he had a cocaine problem, I thought to myself "How could you possibly tell if Robin Williams is on drugs?"

There's a nice little interview in the New Yorker this week with Penny Marshall (LaVerne & Shirley) whose brother Gary created Mork and Mindy as a vehicle for Williams.

But if I had to pick a movie, it would be Death to Smoochy (I was an early supporter of the Jihad to destroy Barney the Dinosaur).
