Here's five examples of Canpakes derailing the same thread he punished Binger for derailing. At some point Canpakes needs to start acting like a legitimate moderator.

These are not why Binger is temporarily banned.

All im asking is for you to consider allowing Binger to post without restrictions , since a moderator was the one egging him on the entire thread. I don't think it's fair for a moderator to ban someone while the moderator is acting in the same manner. It's an abuse of power. Does that make sense, Shades?

I appreciate your assumption that I can control Binger, both in his responses to me as well as to others, but Binger’s behavior and actions are completely under Binger’s control.

I'm a patient individual, and I understand if it takes him a few days. However, it seems you cannot let him respond to a question without interjecting your own thoughts. Your behavior resembles that of an abusive husband who doesn't permit his wife to express herself without interjecting his own views.

Your actions in the thread where you reprimanded Binger are equally in violation of board rules, as you engaged in the same behavior while disciplining him. That's why I'm requesting Shades to impose a two-week ban on you, similar to the one given to Binger. You are equally responsible for derailing and spamming the thread, if not more so! If he doesn't impose a two-week ban, I believe he should at least restore Binger's posting privileges so he can address your unreasonable and self-centered actions.

Since the beginning of the thread two weeks ago, you have made more than 30 posts that may be seen as derailing or spamming the discussion. And you concur because you relocated approximately 20 of your own posts to Prison!

You encouraged Binger by lacking the self-control to overlook him, which I believe is perfectly acceptable, until you decide to ban him for behaving inappropriately on the same thread where you are also behaving inappropriately!

As I mentioned, Shades likely won't impose a ban on you, but he ought to, as you bear just as much responsibility for violating the rules in that thread as Binger does, if not more. He ought to restore Binger's privileges so that he can address the situation you have created.

Weird. Given how much importance you put on timestamps, did you want to take another look at them? I see 17 minutes between those two posts, not 2 minutes.

Did I experience odd fits of Tourette’s-like behavior? Spam people who weren’t talking to me? Ask folks if they wanted to screw others? Repeatedly use obscenities for no apparent reason other than a loss of self control? Embark on a campaign of posting over and over that folks were talking about me? And then continue to do these things when asked to slow down?

Anyhow, you once complained that a moderator should discuss things within civil PM exchanges before taking any sort of ban action, yet here you want to ban me and I haven’t even received one PM from you this week. That just makes me sad. : (

Isn’t “lacking the self-control to overlook (him)” the exact and entire reason why you and Binger have been trying to gum up this board for 4 years, now? Both of you have stated that you feel slighted because of the words and opinions of others, then blame your own amped-up and total lack of self-control on everyone and anyone else.

Apparently, you believe that moderators must babysit and board-nanny every other member of a community but must also ‘overlook’ the behavior and actions of the two people trying almost exclusively to cause conflict.

There’s a kernel of truth there, resting in the final sentence. I shouldn’t have to temporarily ban Binger for anything, if Binger was capable of not solely seeing the board as his own personal entertainment at the expense of everyone else while carrying out grudges against people that he disagrees with.

Moderating isn’t ‘disciplining’; it’s about ensuring the smooth operation of the board.

On one side, you have the conservatives, and on the other side, you have the liberals. That's perfectly acceptable as a board member posting, shades has arranged this board to facilitate discussions on various topics in a free and open way. The current issue is that, as a moderator, you are struggling to separate your liberal views from your moderation duties. As a moderator, it's essential to ensure fairness to both sides. This means you must learn to treat DrCamnPP and Bishop Schmo with the same consideration as you do with me, Whiskey, Ceeboo, and MG2.0. At this moment, you are not engaging in that activity. At this moment, you are permitting DrCamnPP to come onto the board and make disrespectful comments towards me to suck my own dxxk and you take no action. If I express my concerns without formally reporting, you simply place the blame on me for not reporting, rather than behaving like a responsible adult who understands the importance of moderating a discussion board.

If you can learn to be fair, then I will calm down, and I'm quite certain Whiskey will feel the same way. I find it hard to believe that I need to explain this, but here it is: as a moderator, if you send a private message to someone to discuss an issue and you behave in a rude manner in that message, just as you do on the board, you will not reach any kind of agreement with the person you are trying to advise. A PM is when a moderator should communicate in a calming and soothing manner, encouraging the board member to respond appropriately. in your private message me, you were just as much of a jerk as you are to me on the board.
