Is there much use for gloves or beanies in winter?
I asked at the beginning of the thread, IHAQ.

Most definitely. There's a joke that Vegas has almost 9 months of summer, 3 months of winter, and a day or two of spring and autumn sprinkled in between. Last winter was uncommonly mild (I only wore a coat a handful of times), but it usually gets cold enough to freeze a few nights each year.
There's a local water distribution company that has generously given us use of one of their buildings for storage. This allows us to stockpile all donations of coats, sweaters, blankets, and scarves for when it gets colder.

Large: $17.90 Medium: $12.65 Small: $5.95
You can pick them up at the Post Office, or you can order them online (for free), and your postal carrier will deliver them. Also, most office supply places have them too.

I got the official count of what my fiancé and I were able to collect with the help of our family and friends (which of course includes the amazing generosity of this board).
We were able to collect 2,151 pairs of socks, plus an additional 424 single socks (those loners add up). So, with your amazing help, we were able to collect 4,726 socks for those in need in the Las Vegas valley.
Not only did you help us to collect that awe-inspiring number of socks, but you also helped us to give a needed boost to the hygiene and resources team's war chest.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The obvious question now, good Doctor Steuss, is what else can we do to help?
All organizations should have a pet charity to do good works for. This board may be loosely organized, but the response to your request has been heart warming.
We should all consider helping you help others on a regular basis. Tell us what you need and I'm sure the members here will respond.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Right now, I think we are doing pretty well on supplies. As Christmas approaches, I'll probably have some giving opportunities as we try to get gift packages together for families in need.
There is one immediate need I can think of though. There was a vision impaired gentleman (he was a veteran who lost most of his sight to an I.E.D.) who was using an old umbrella as a guide stick because someone had stolen his white cane. If anyone has a (preferably collapsible) white cane laying around – I know, it’s a long-shot – I can get it to someone who can put it to use.
Edit: No need for the cane. I found one on Amazon, and was able to borrow a Prime account to get it shipped for free.

Need a little help from my brothers/sisters who are vets, or have worked with vets, please.
Do entities (i.e. VA, and non-profits) that provide services and resources to veterans require a copy of their DD214, or military ID? Or do they generally have other ways of verifying status?
I am trying to put together a list of phone numbers and maps to all the veteran resources in the valley, but if they are going to need their DD214 or military ID, then I am going to need to figure out a way to help with that also.
Thanks.
