I own two shotguns. One is my dad's 16 guage single shot. The other is a 12 guage double barrel that I got as a present on my sixteenth birthday. The best present I ever received (like Ralphy in "A Christmas Story").

I don't own ammunition for either one.

I live in an area of the country where guns are part of the culture in a big way, so I know many people who own them, and speak about handling and owning them in a very responsible way, in my opinion. I get that guns are an interest for some like archery is an interest for others. So, you know, my previous comment was just another of my stupid jokes.

I was mostly pointing out that most Americans, who can legally own a gun, choose not to.

My daughter stayed with her cousin's conservative Baptist family a few summers ago, and she came home telling me she thought we needed to own a gun. Stupid impressionable kids. I told her it will never happen, because it never will. Guns nauseate me, as does a morbid fascination with them.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

It wasn't a stupid joke! It was a good joke.

I agree with every thing else that you said. I keep my two shot guns out of sentimental value. I haven't fired my shot gun in many years and I have never fire my dad's gun. I keep both of them because they remind me of my dad. I've lost all interest in killing things for sport. My wife teases me for shooing house spiders onto a piece of paper and releasing them outside.

There are too many guns in this country.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.
