Just gotta say this. You're not getting the full story on national news. What you're getting is hype. It looks like the shooting started in the parking lot of a grocery store first, then went to PP. It's not confirmed that this was carried out with PP as the target. PP was where he was apprehended.

Several anti-abortion sites asserted the shooting began at a Chase bank next door. They then quickly rescinded this as reports said it initiated in PP. That's still the commonly reported view. What makes you think you have insider information that contradicts this? It's hard to accept you have better sources than every major media organization.

Let's everyone cool their jets here. We don't know for sure this was a planned attack on Planned Parenthood. It could have been just another nut with a gun. Which is fine in Colorado Springs.
What do you do if you see this guy walking down the street with an AR-15 style automatic weapon?

Actually, the above quote is a bit misleading. That's from another shooting in Colorado Springs earlier this month. So seven dead (so far) in Colorado Springs this month from automatic weapons fire.

You don’t know his name, but you’ve seen him more than a few times and he looks somehow different. Plus, he’s carrying a rifle in broad daylight and you think you ought to report that to someone.
If you call 911, as Naomi Bettis did, this is what you’d hear from the Colorado Springs dispatcher, according to Bettis: That Colorado, like the great majority of states, has an open-carry law that allows even distraught-looking people to walk down the street cradling an AR-15, unless, that is, they start to do something illegal with the gun.

I didn't say that I had insider information, EA.
I said you're not getting the full story on national news, because you aren't. I have no idea why you referred to what ant-abortion sites had to say. Are those news outlets?
Nothing initiated IN the PP building as you say above.
According to the first police scanner reports, the shooting began in the parking lot of the King Soopers parking lot on Centenniel Blvd. The guy was shooting at random people in their cars and in the parking lot. Then, he apparently moved north on Centenniel Blvd. to the PP building and went inside. Once inside the PP building it appears that he simply hid out there and shot no one inside the building.
My information comes directly from minute by minute local news reports I monitored for 5 hours yesterday. Also the police scanner recordings that played the first conversations from police officers to dispatch. They clearly said he was in the parking lot of the (King) Soopers.
At one point, local news station KRDO reported that the shooter had been detained. CNN picked it up within minutes, then KRDO retracted the statement shortly after, because it was in error. The shooter was contained, not detained, inside the PP building. Then he began exchanging gunfire from inside the PP building with the police outside the building.
Again, the shootings didn't take place inside the PP building at all.
My guess is that we'll find out that the PP building was simply incidental to the events that took place yesterday. The investigation is on-going and it will take some time to process the crime scene.

I'm pretty sure we're going to find out the guy was looney tunes, Miss Tish. Whether or not he targeted PP remains unclear. According to local police scanner recordings, he started out in a grocery story parking lot and then moved to PP. There is a road or drive way that separates the two properties. I don't know why, if he were in intent on targeting PP, he'd basically announce his presence in the parking lot by shooting up people, prior to that.
The people he shot weren't inside of the PP building.
In any case, we'll have to see the results of the investigation before we know anything solid.

Well that just took all the wind out of subgenius' sails.
The gunman suspected of storming a Planned Parenthood clinic and killing a police officer and two others told the officers who arrested him “no more baby parts,’’ after being taken into custody, according to a law enforcement official.
Well there you have it folks. We can easily attribute this atrocity to the Right Wing media's misinformation campaign of sowing hatred and fear. I wonder when FOX News will issue an apology.

Most Republicans are loony tunes already; just look at their front runner for President. I don't see how calling them nuts, mentally ill, retarded, or whatever, in any way changes the fact that these people are acting on genuine fears and hatred that have been instilled in them by a coordinated effort by Right Wing media.
Whether or not he targeted PP remains unclear.
Well, he told the police officer "no more baby parts" so unless the cop is lying....
The attack on the clinic was “definitely politically motivated,’’ the official — who has been briefed on the investigation and spoke on condition of anonymity because it is still unfolding — told The Washington Post. NBC News, which first reported the comment attributed to suspect Robert Lewis Dear, said Dear also mentioned President Obama in a range of statements to investigators that left unclear his precise motivation in targeting the clinic.
