the reason why no one was harmed was because it didn't have nothing to do with Planned Parenthood

Which means it did have something to do with it.

In any case, we'll have to see the results of the investigation before we know anything solid.

Of course. These stories can get confusing, especially in the beginning. So many outlets rush to report.

I did see in this in the Denver Post today:

The shooting began at 11:38 a.m., and the entire incident took place at the Planned Parenthood clinic, according to police. Officers exchanged gunfire with the suspect, identified by a federal law enforcement source as Robert Lewis Dear, 57, throughout the afternoon, even as they also used an armored vehicle to rescue people trapped inside the clinic. After preparing over the police radio for a final gunbattle, officers took the suspected shooter into custody without incident at 4:52 p.m. Colorado Springs police Lt. Catherine Buckley said officers at the scene were able to shout to the man and convince him to give himself

So if that isn't true, and shooting occurred in other locations, the CS police need to walk that statement back. I assume we will get a clearer picture over the next few days.

Miss Tish,

Denver Post isn't the local newspaper. Here's a brief timeline from The Gazette which is local. You'll notice that it begins at 11:38 am just as in your above. The police were dispatched earlier than that. Their Facebook indicates dispatch was at 11:10 am.

There's another timeline from the Gazette that starts at 12:31 pm.

Here's the dispatch time right off the CSPD Facebook page.

Apparently all those identical liberals aren't learning from spending their time since age 7 watching movies.

Ldsfaqs, really, can you think about what you are writing before you commit such drivel to paper?

I'd ask for references like I usually do, but when ldsfaqs admits right up front he is getting his 'factual' detail from a fictional movie, where does one even begin?

Back in the real world: thanks for the local updates Jersey Girl, very helpful.

Last I checked they don't issue drivers licenses to certain "mentally ill"....

1. So, instead of focusing on the car and the law abiding drivers as being the problem, why don't you instead focus on getting better health related issues into the background check system? After all.... nearly every single mass shooting has been by someone know to be or diagnosed with mental illness issues.

Do you never shut up with your inane blather?

How in the hell do you think someone "know to be" or "diagnosed" with a mental illness categories could be embedded in the background check system?

Do you even hear yourself when you're thinking this stuff in your head?

Yes Jersey Girl, I understand.

I'm not a regular reader of the Colorado papers, so I'm not sure if a paper like the DP has a reputation for accuracy or if it's known for sensationalism/tabloid style Daily Mail journalism.

Miss Tish,

I think the media as a whole is sloppy when it comes to accuracy.

I'm particularly unimpressed by the 'diagnosed with mental illness issues' comment. WTF is a diagnosis of 'issues'?

CFR.

Many conservative states, and some liberal ones have a higher gun murder rate than Illinois.

I guess we'd better legalize everything then, because only criminal will break laws.
