An interesting point of the PA case is that in only two weeks, Trump’s original team of lawyers and their replacements all filed motions to be removed from the case. Why can’t Trump find patriotic heroes to defend truth and righteousness in court?

Plaintiffs’ only remaining claim alleges a violation of equal protection. This claim, like Frankenstein’s Monster, has been haphazardly stitched together from two distinct theories in an attempt to avoid controlling precedent... That Plaintiffs are trying to mix-and-match claims to bypass contrary precedent is not lost on the Court.
Yeah, it didn’t go well for the plaintiffs. The rest of the document details the sheer incompetency, remarkable legal representation turnover, and impossible reaches by the Trump campaign.

It should cause Trump cultists to burn hot with shame, but since they don’t read anything this’ll pass as every other insane thing Trump and his cult have let pass with nary a shrug.

The Federal District Judge in Trump v Boockvar dismissed the PA case in a brutal opinion. I’ve only seen pieces, but my eyebrows were singed. ...
Yes, so shocked that the Obama appointed judge was so "brutal" in failing to recognize that sworn affidavits, etc are not sufficient to merit discovery. Even you have to admit that this judge issued a press release instead of an opinion.

And, in a new twist, black voters in Detroit have sued Trump in Federal Court in DC, alleging his attempts to influence legislators and the folks involved in certification are violations of the voting rights act. The state election board meets Monday to certify the results. Like the Wayne County Board, it has two Dems and two Reps as members.

RI,

How could the prayer for relief be enforced if Trump simply ignores this lawsuit and the court finds for the defendants?

You mean finds for plaintiffs? With respect to Trump, it could issue an injunction. Then, if Trump engages in behavior that arguably violates the injunction, the plaintiffs could file an motion for order to show cause, which would require Trump to appear and argue why he should not be held in contempt.

But, on its face, I think the suit has lots of problems. I’m not that familiar with voting rights act litigation, so I don’t know the kind of remedies available. But trying to stop Trump from speaking with state officials strikes me as having first amendment implications. And I’m not sure how a District Court in DC has any jurisdiction over elections in various states. It’s just more weirdness.

Is there anything new in deranged election conspiracy theories?
