If these celebrations did not occur, the only thing Trump did wrong was to believe the same media that is now calling him a liar — and doing so to cover up the truth about American Muslims celebrating 9/11 and their own covering up of that fact.

Brietbart claims:

a just-uncovered local CBS News (WCBS-TV in New York) report completely vindicates Trump’s claim of “thousands and thousands” of Muslims celebrating the fall of the World Trade Center.

It then goes on to cite the evidence which doesn't even come close to "vindicating" Trump's lie. Here is what the report said five days after 9/11.

Just a couple of blocks away from that Jersey City apartment the F.B.I. raided yesterday and had evidence removed, there is another apartment building, one that investigators told me, quote, was swarming with suspects — suspects who I’m told were cheering on the roof when they saw the planes slam into the Trade Center. Police were called to the building by neighbors and found eight men celebrating, six of them tenants in the building.

Brietbart takes the existence of 8 men celebrating, as proof that Trump was right about "thousands and thousands" of Muslims celebrating. At least Carson has the brains to know he needed to bail out of this lie, even though that required having to lie about what he actually said.

So if we assume Trump was referring to this report of "eight men" celebrating, it still doesn't justify his fear-mongering to suggest all Muslims are potential terrorists, because the report goes on to identify that building as a radical hot spot, not a typical Muslim area that represents Islam in general:

The F.B.I. and other terrorist task force agencies arrived, and the older investigators on the task force recalled that they had been to this building before, eight years ago, when the first World Trade Center attack led them to Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman, whose Jersey City mosque lies between the two buildings getting attention today. And the older investigators remember that the suspects that eventually got convicted for the first Trade Center case . . . lived in the building where these same eight men were celebrating the destruction that they saw from the roof. Calling this a hot address, the task force investigators ordered everyone detained.

So there should be no surprise that the fewer than a dozen Muslim radicals who were directly affiliated with the earlier terrorists, would be found celebrating whenever another terrorist attack happened.

Breitbart logic: "Thousands and thousands" is synonymous with "four plus four."

As I've posted previously I live in NY. Born and raised here. I lived through 9/11 and remember the atmosphere immediately following. Do I believe that individuals celebrated? Yes. The same way I think there were people in this country who hate the Federal government that celebrated the bomb at the Murrah building.

Do I think there were large mobs celebrating? No.

Not only would it have been on TV and in every single NY/New Jersey newspaper, but the people that lived here would have showed an extremely violent reaction to such things. There would have been riots, and Muslims dancing in the streets in this area would have been hurt. Ugly, yes, but that was how many people felt at the time. They were looking for an excuse to hurt people and extract some form of revenge. Muslims dancing in celebration would have given them a target.

As I've said, and most conservatives have said, Trump made a huge mistake, and should appologize for it.
The fact that he won't, is one of a few reasons why I wouldn't want him as President.

A President needs a little humility. But, what will be will be. He's certainly better than our Liar in Chief currently.
It's so facinating to me how liberals allow everything with their own, yet a conservative does something, and it's hell to pay.
Even worse though with liberals, they utterly manufacture evil with conservatives, like they've done many times with Trump, and all other conservatives.
So, on top of the fact conservatives can error sometimes, in order to support liberal ideology and power, they have to lie about everything and everyone, they wouldn't survive if they didn't lie all the time. It's how they maintain their power.
