California is far more liberal than Michigan with its Dictator-in-Chief Rick Snyder. California has been arguing over how to spend it surplus funds for the last three years, after the years of mismanagement by Republicans.

Buzz wrong..... despite how strongly liberal California has become (used to be conservative).... there is 1 lot's of conservatives still in the State, and 2 it has huge wealth and industry's, thus it can "afford" to be more liberal and it not look like nearly ALL other liberal ran city's and states, similar to Detroit, Chicago, Washington D.C., etc. etc. etc.

As to California budget surplus..... as usual you liberals are seriously confused.
First of all California hasn't been run much by hardly any Republicans for some time, that have any actual power anyway.
Further, the Republicans that were involved in running the state in recent past are in fact the ones who created this "Budget Surplus" by making necessary cuts in various things because of the recession caused by previous liberal leaders, the financial crash (also caused by liberals forcing banks to losen lending standards which Republicans tried to fix but Barney Frank etc. stopped them, saying nothing was wrong with Fanny and Freddy), etc..

Sure, the 2012 tax the rich more bill that passed certainly helped bring an influx of money, because after all, California does have a lot of Rich people that can manage it. But even Brown admits that the measure was meant to be temporary..... yet you liberals are salivating on how you can spend the money, and cause the original problems all over again.

Anyway, don't be the typical ignorant liberal and thing that just because someone is currently in power that means they improved the economy.
You all do the same thing with Clinton. You act as if his surplase was actually created by him, when in fact it was created by the previous administrations and Republicans in Congress, as well Republicans had Congress during the Clinton years. Clinton was basically a do nothing President, so attributing the surplus to him is ignorance. Repubublican policy's during the Reagan and Bush 1 years, and the Republican Congresses that had power most of the time, created the surplus.

It's not that complicated to understand..... of course not surprised a liberal doesn't get it.

Republicans have had "some" power in recent past, and it was during the periods in which things went to donkey, so they were able to do some things AND some Dem's worked with them to make the necessary hard choices/changes..

However, in "general" Republicans don't and never have had power for a very long time in California. They do on occasion in certain offices, but not in general. It's mostly a liberal ran state, but can get away with it still because of the vast wealth in the state.

Republicans haven't had a majority in the CA state senate in over 20 years, they had one briefly from 94-96, before that they hadn't had one since 69- 71.

The governors office has spent more time in GOP hands since 1967 than in Democratic ones.

Are you suggesting that the surplus now in California is left over from the 94-96 era of GOP control? Or that the Republican Senate Minority is responsible for these 'good' things?

I think CCC was probably referring to Dekumejian, Wilson, and Schwarzenegger. All GOP, and in power in the governor's seat for 24 out of the past 32 years. Dems only held that office for 8 years of the past 32.
