Have you heard this guy?
I'm speechless!
Completely speechless!
Why are you speechless that they have a family attorney?

Why are you speechless? I thought he and the other guy did a good job at their little press conference.

Got a chuckle from that one Shades!
As I'm sure you already know, no one is speechless over the right to be represented. And as I'm quite sure you already knew, the "speechless" reaction of Ceebo and millions of other was about the content (or lack thereof) and spin in his presser.
But no one can fault Chesley. Like a great actor with a bad script, he's just doing his job and providing the constitutional rights his client is entitled. And he's a smart businessman - there is no downside to his taking on this client, only upside. Best I can quickly gleen, he's a defense/plaintiffs atty with a regional practice. This exposure will cut his marketing expenditures while he gets paid from deep pockets for this role.
Just like those who represented Michael Jackson, Ted Bundy, Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton. Great exposure to your practice. And Islamic terrorism is a growing area of practice for lawyers. Chesley just enriched and endeared himself to a hugely potential profitable area of demographics. He knows this, he's smart!
I admit, I taught you nothing about the word "speechless"! But still got a chuckle over your response!

Why am I speechless?
He insinuated that the San Bernardino tragedy may have been constructed - in an effort to influence gun control - like this tragedy wasn't even real - never happened.
He also made a very similar comment about the Sandy Hook tragedy. Something about a precedence for these types of "creations" that have happened before.
He also made a comment that went something like this - If I went to the Facebook page of Britney Spears, that doesn't mean anything - I hate Britney Spears - we all go to Facebook pages - this means nothing.
Well, she didn't just go to a Facebook page - Moments before this horrific massacre of innocent human beings - she wrote a post on Facebook that pledged her allegiance to ISIS.
Really - A Britney Spears comparison?
I found him to be well beyond bizarre! I think the things he was saying - a few days after this unbelievable event - reached the level of insanity.
But, that's just my take.
Peace,
Ceeboo

Yes, no one is in danger of actually believing this idiot. Obviously he is a whacko looking to get himself in the news.

Hey Bach!
I'm not so sure he has done anything positive for his personal practice. Actually, I think his recent "media exposure" will have an enormously negative impact of his reputation - as well as his future career.
But - I could be wrong!

We agree!
See that Kevin, it only took 653 posts to agree on something!

Re: Chesley
I must have missed part of the interview because I didn't hear anything about it being orchestrated for gun control or whatever. I'm not sure if I even want to go hunt around to listen to that.
He doesn't represent the alleged terrorists. He represents their family. A family that is already receiving death threats and intense police interrogations. A family who has had reporters post personal, sensitive information and pictures of them all over the internet and television.
I thought his overarching point was that we have to wait to have information verified by investigators before we act like it is fact. That is true. As of the time of that interview investigators still hadn't conclusively determined that the ISIS pledge Facebook post was made by Malik (and made it public).
As the attorney of the family they are going to be even more cautious. They don't have the luxury the rest of us do of latching on to everything before it has been made a public fact. They would be terrible attorneys if they did that.
I think we can all see where this investigation is headed and what the likely outcome is, but until the investigation is wrapped up and the determination made public all we are doing is speculating.
