Is there anyone here who would support such practice given the rights afforded to women in this country. And if you would support Sharia law, do you believe that women should now be held to a lesser standard than that wich we have come to know?

For those who would not accept Sharia law, should anyone who openly advocates and practices such law, should the be subject to prosecution or should we simply now ignore the rights of female gender citizens??

Bach, we already have Jewish and Christian private court systems in the U.S. and established jurisprudence that tells us how it works. We have an extensive system in place today where people enact private laws to which they agree to abide called "contract." The whole Sharia issue is hyped up and overblown by malicious people to foment hatred against Muslims.

There are a substantial number of Christian Americans who want to enact their own Biblical based sharia-type laws in the United States. At least one state enacted a law that required a woman to have a probe stuck up her vagina without her consent as a condition of obtaining an abortion. Sticking anything up a woman's vagina without her consent is rape. If our legal and constitutional system is robust enough to fend off Christian attempts to introduce state mandated rape, I have every confidence that it can handle Sharia.
