I can admit that for me the thought, quick nuclear end, crossed my mind. Its simple.I guess there is a piece of my mind which still works like a nine year old's. Then the more mature portion of my mind remembers the reality of such destruction which presents so many huge negatives.

It was worded to retain plausible deniability, but the sand glowing in the dark comment ordinarily would be a reference to a nuclear strike. I don't think that Cruz has any actual intentions along those lines. He's openly admitted to be deploying a strategy of saying crazy things to pick up Carson and Trump's followers and this would be line with that. I had been waiting for Trump to go Brownback and argue we need to threaten to nuke Mecca in retaliation for Islamic terrorism. My real concern with this commentary is that it makes it logical for Middle Eastern nations to do everything they can to develop nuclear weapons, because that is the only real deterrent to US militarism and the prospect of a nuclear strike from it. Injecting uncertainty into nuclear politics is dangerous that way.

Regarding this thread, I brought it up because ldsfaqs posted about liberals violent tendencies and used as an example a forgettable character who immediately had his position crushed as a result of his comments. Meanwhile Cruz is saying hysterically violent things (even in the context of conventional bombing) and not only is his position secure, I don't think ldsfaqs much cares.

You invented a purpose for the PPACA that never existed or was intended ("free health care for everyone") and then whined like a fat, spoiled toddler denied of his lollipop that you couldn't get a free government handout of free health care ... and while refusing to exercise, and stuffing your face with soda and chips (by your own admission) to boot.
