I don't think it is a pox upon both their houses situation. To me, it's like saying the posters Droopy and Brad Hudson are equally chomping at the bit to express outrage.
No they ain't. The right has a much more intense trigger for manufactured outrage than moderates and liberals at the moment. I don't know how much right-wing media you can stomach to take in, but it's a near endless cycle of outrage over misleading and invented stuff. And when they get a hold of something that actually should produce some outrage or offense as a reasonably response, they lose their freaking minds. Droopy is essentially a microcosm of a broader culture occurring in the political right at this moment. The same culture also exists on the left, but it is smaller and less influential in the overall framework of liberal/Democrat discourse. I think there are Democrat operatives who have seen how effective this is and have been working hard for some time to exploit the same tendencies. They've been met with less success. It's getting worse and worse on that side too (representing a general degrading of our political culture), but it's still not nearly as bad.
Trump's core group of political supporters, what I read one sociologist refer to as the "white, male ignoramus vote", tend to be on the very extreme end of that extreme.
Thanks, EA. I should have added a qualification along the lines of your post. I don't see it as symmetrical, but I see a cycle of fear and lashing out in anger that exists nevertheless. I'm talking more comparing Kevin and faqs than Droopy and me.

If you're more quick to take offense and get angry as a group, you have a better chance of securing your rights under our current system of government. If you sit back and act like it doesn't bother you, the courts will usurp your rights accordingly.
I know this bums out people like Ceeboo. Perhaps the off topic forum at Mormon Discussions shouldn't be the battle ground. I took it pretty hard when I learned that our legal system wasn't really based on any morality but rather to avoid revolution. If you're not willing to revolt, don't expect to have many rights in America.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.
And ya.... All those "fascists" just standing around waving and running their video phones. LOL
So, some nut likely a liberal plant said "light him on fire". Likely another doing a hitler sign, or it could have been a conservative simply "mocking" since liberals like to falsely claim we are fascists.
You'll note how NOBODY ELSE was doing anything else immoral or wrong in the two videos. So, tell us again all this "fascism" occuring????

That didn't work out all that well for the South in the US Civil War.

For clarity - Political discussion does not bum Ceeboo out. As a matter of fact, given all of the tremendously challenging and enormously complex issues that our county faces in today's world - I think that these discussions are profoundly important - and profoundly important to the entire human race.
What bums me out is the constant and continual hostile partisanship that not only distracts from real discussions but it adds more ineptness and corruptness to an already highly inept and corrupt US government.
in my opinion this country is hugely divided and it is becoming more and more divided all the time. This is precisely the exact opposite of what this country needs. And in my opinion the need is at the level of desperation.
