Check out the movie The Devil's Violinist staring the fabulous young violinist, David Garrett. It is based on the life of Niccolò Pagannini, reputed to be the greatest violinist who ever lived. His virtuosity was so amazing that it was popularly rumored that he must have sold his soul to the Devil in order to achieve such fabulous skill, thus the title of the movie.
The movie is available on Netflix and Amazon.com and is well worth watching, if you love great music and learning about the life and times of those who created it. Here is another excerpt from the movie.
