I'm sorry, when San Bernardino happened there were articles about how highly unusual it was to have a mass murder by 2 people, let alone one of those being a woman. So, given that, I thought it was now general knowledge that mass murders are typically perpetrated by a single male. Columbine being by 2 males was highly unusual and this being planned by 2 females is highly unusual. I do not know of any other instances of a 2 female mass murder plot.

First, no details of their plot/threat were released so the notion of a mass anything is speculation.

Second, how unusual is it for 2 teens, of any gender combination, to copycat what the highly pervasive modern day media is touting as the attention getting strategy du jour?

What is wrong is that a large segment of society has lost their ability to think for themselves by succumbing to whatever hysteria sells movie tickets. The continued erosion of a natural family atmosphere has forced a chaotic transition to whatever dismal downgrade awaits the "new and improved" society that somehow science will have ordained as "better".
