$10000 Dream Vacation

Post by _just me »

If you won or earned a $10,000 dream vacation where would you go? You can't take the winnings as cash, it has to be a vacation.

Rules:

Must be 10-14 days
Vacation for 2---no kids!

Links and pictures appreciated!!!

One of those over the water bungalows in Bora Bora.

Does it have to be just one? I have so many dream vacations.

The most enjoyable vacations I've had were in Europe. I would go back at the drop of a hat.

Egypt would be great if I didn't have to worry about political unrest.

An Alaskan fishing/ photography trip would be great. I've been to Alaska, but it was a work trip and I didn't have time to see or experience much.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Patagonia, especially in January.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Oh man, those are some great ideas and pictures!

I was thinking between New Zealand and Ireland. I'd love to stay in a castle!

I've been both places and would recommend Ireland. You can do the B&B package where you get a book of B&B's across the country and can pick the ones you want to stay in with 24 hour notice. We stayed in old manors, 17th century "castles" (I actually scraped our car along the arch that leads to their parking area - the car company told me as long as I could drive it back I was covered :)), modern homes outside dublin and we got to see about 2/3rds of the country and stopped at all kinds of random things we spotted while driving from place to place...it was an amazing place and I really want to go back.

Ditto! Yet I'd expand on that a bit.

I'd love to see (and would love to take my Europe-loving brother along as the other passenger, if my wife wouldn't mind):

Some day I would love to have some time again in Frisian regions, including the Netherlands. And I would love to see a few cities in Germany, areas of France, and regions of Italy. But I wouldn't squeeze those extras in a two-week window listed above, since that would be too hectic of a pace to actually enjoy the journey.

Fun. I would love to return to New Zealand, and would love to see Ireland. But I don't care too much for the idea of a castle...would prefer renting a room from locals to get to interact with them.
