Cliven Bundy Arrested
Cliven Bundy arrested by FBI at Portland International Airport
Cliven Bundy, father of the jailed leader of the Oregon occupation, was arrested when he arrived at the Portland International Airport Wednesday evening. He was booked without charges at approximately 11 p.m.
The FBI declined to detail the charges on which Bundy had been arrested, saying that that information would be released by members of the United States Attorney’s office in Las Vegas at some point on Thursday.
The Oregonian reported, however, that he will face charges on conspiring to interfere with federal officers — the same charge currently pending against his two sons for their involvement in the Oregon standoff — for his role in the standoff on his ranch with the United States Bureau of Land Management.
Bundy allegedly traveled to Oregon in order to join conservative Nevada Assemblywoman Michele Fiore at a press conference planned for Thursday morning concerning his sons’ takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge and the subsequent FBI infiltration of it.
"It’s terribly unfortunate the timing of his arrest, given all the progress Assemblywoman Fiore made this evening,” his son Ammon’s lawyer, Mike Arnold, told the Oregonian. “He was arrested without incident and without violence. That should give them comfort in their decision tomorrow.”
Four people continue to occupy the refuge — Jeffrey Banta, David Fry, and Sean and Sandy Anderson — but Fiore hopes to convince them to relent in her press conference Thursday morning.

That's great news. Criminals should be brought to justice. I'm glad they had the patience to arrest him in a setting where there wouldn't be a gunfight.

Unless it's someone on your side. Then all we hear about is how America incarcerates more people than anyone else in the world, for profit prisons, etc.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Re: Cliven Bundy Arrested
He wasn't a "criminal".... he was a protester no different than any Liberal has protested in the past illegally occupying property and buildings.
Get your facts straight. Your liberal fascists leaders and government bureaucrats made them criminals simply because they didn't support the ideology of the protestors and the having guns with them. Otherwise, there was absolutely no difference between their protesting/occupying and liberals various instances of the same, except the Bundy's were better about it, middle of know-where, not interfering with people etc.
I don't remember, was Cliven at the Refuge? Don't think so?

Let's review the facts.
Cliven Bundy is a rancher that takes home several hundred thousand dollars every year. He makes this money by grazing cattle on land that's owned by the federal government. The government said that's fine, as long as he pays a nominal grazing fee of about $50,000 a year. In general, ranchers love this deal because paying $50,000 a year to the government is a faction of what they'd have to pay to purchase the land.
About 25 years ago, Cliven said that he doesn't want to pay the government this money any more. He made arguments that since him and his ancestors had been using the land for free or next-to-free for so long, they were entitled to own it for free. He kept on using the land, but didn't pay the fees.
Over the next 25 years, the government allowed him to use the land, and didn't collect any grazing fees. There was a long legal battle where judges at every level unanimously agreed that the land was the government's and that the grazing fees were fair.
At that point, the government told Cliven that if he didn't pay the grazing fees he needed to keep the cattle off of government land, and that if they found any unauthorized cattle on government land, the government would confiscate them.
Cliven continued to use the government's land, and the cattle on the government's land were confiscated.
Cliven and his posy got their guns and went to the federal agents that had the cattle. They pointed their guns at the federal agents and said that they needed to give the cattle back and if they didn't, they would take them back with force. Cliven made a call to his anti-American sympathizers across the nation and told them to bring their guns to Nevada and help him fight the U.S. government. The U.S. government didn't want to get into a gun fight with Cliven and his thugs, so they let them take the cattle back. They surrounded his place to enforce the law, but never entered.
Then last night, Cliven decided to go to Oregon, and got on a plane without his gun. He was arrested by the FBI getting off the plane to face the charges associated with using force to prevent federal agents from doing their jobs.
What has "the Left" ever done that was like that?

Someone on "my side"? What does that mean? Are you suggesting that people in prison for drugs are on my side, while people in prison for violent crimes are on your side?

Not only that, but how does faqs justify allowing Bundy to gain an unfair competitive edge against other ranchers?
At its core, this is about petulance and greed. It has morphed into aggression and treasonous actions. None of this is admirable or moral behavior.
