Who will be Trump's VP?
Who will be Trump's VP?
I think it's a tossup between John McCain, Jeb Bush and Carly Fiorina ;-)
Seriously, I'm wondering who will run with him? How do you weigh the pros and cons of being Donald Trump's running mate? Which Republicans do you think will be will to run with Trump that would help in win in November?

He's said more positive about Hilary Clinton in the last 10 years than he's said about any Republican. If Bernie gets the Democratic nomination, Trump could pick Hilary.

My first thought when Christy endorsed Trump was that he was looking to get the VP pick. Others are suggesting AG, but VP is attractive for someone like Christy. What else are his political prospects?

As a ticket-balancer, Christie doesn't bring a lot to the table. He's from New Jersey, basically one bridge away from Trump. And they both have very bellicose personas. I know that's attractive in this political season, but it is also a turn-off for a lot of voters. Trump already has problem with women voters and I don't think Christie helps. (This could be the heaviest ticket ever. How much did Taft's V.P. weigh?)
The ideal ticket balancer would be a Senator with some foreign policy experience, like Biden was for Obama. A Senator would be nice because Trump doesn't have the kinds of relationships that come having spent time in a cloakroom. He needs to form some sort of Congressional political infrastructure if he is to have any hope of governing effectively.
But a senior Senator with foreign policy experience and political gravitas is probably not looking to hook up with Donald Trump to further his political career.
I just think the pool of available Republicans with experience and gravitas that would help his ticket is probably pretty thin.

If it becomes a brokered convention then everything changes but I doubt very much it will come to that.
If he needs Ohio it might be Kasich, I doubt that will happen.
If he needs Mass or support in Northeast...likely...it might be Scott, IMHO.

What say you, Mr. Graham? Donald Trump says he hires 'unbelievable' people. This would certainly be an unbelievable hire!

Re: Who will be Trump's VP?
The party hates Trump. Would joining his ticket hurt one's prestige within the party? If so, the VP would need to be someone else who doesn't care about pissing of the party bosses. Not sure who that would be.

Disagree on Christie. I think he has other plans for him.

I don't think so. I think that Kevin might be a little bit upset now that Trump basically ended up becoming the Obama of 2008 instead of Sanders.
