"Bunny Baskets" for the Less Fortunate

Post by _Doctor Steuss »

My wife and I are going to be putting together Easter “Bunny Baskets” for the children at the Family Promise Homeless Shelter. We likely won’t have an accurate headcount until closer to Easter, but they have given us an estimate to shoot for of 40-50.

Some things will likely be better sourced locally (in particular, the baskets via dollar stores), but if you’d like to donate, these are some of the things we are in search of:

- Decorative grass (for inside the baskets).
- Candy.
- Small stuffed toys/animals.
- Gender neutral toys.
- Games (puzzle games, card games, etc.).
- Books (I’m thinking early reader type stuff mostly [like Dr. Seuss]).
- Spring/Summer type items (thinking something like squirt guns, maybe?).

Gender specific toys will of course be groovy too. We aren’t completely sure what the gender breakdown will be, but I’d guess it’d be fairly close to a 50/50 split.

Thanks all,
Stu

Hey! Hey!

I am sitting next to 36 of these from my classroom materials. They are small, very simple, just 7 pages long, about 5.5" x 5.5", but fun and send a good message. These are what you get from Scholastic for a certain amount in classroom orders.

If you want them, they are yours!

Address incoming. Yes, that should be fine. We just want everything by March 19th at the latest, so we have time to put everything together by Easter.

Thank you.
