Somebody, somewhere has seen the groundswell Trump is accumulating and is worried he is actually going to get the nomination. The warring aspect to this is that they see the biggest loser, Romney, as being the means to make Trump look bad. Crikey the Republican Party is in a mess.

But who else? I can't think of any Republican who could get that kind of attention. Maybe a hologram of Ronald Reagan? George Bush Sr. sitting in a hospital bed with an oxygen tube up his nose?

The situation is absolutely pathetic, but the Republicans have no one to blame but themselves. They chose how they were going to act for the last eight years (and what they were going to focus on and tell their base), and now they get to reap what they've sown.

Like telling us that illegal immigration is an act of love? It's those kind of statements that create the distrust between rank and file working people and the elites in the Republican party.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

I think the biggest fear that the Republican leaders have is what has already happened. The party has been torn apart. It is now effectively two separate parties. Trump has consolidated and taken the lead of the Tea Party element (under-educated, blue collar Republicans) and left the elite Republicans with a very narrow voting base.

This is the intimidation that was behind Trump's threat to run independently at the beginning of the primaries. It's hard to see how the GOP can recover from this. We may become a three party system soon.

Edited to correct the results of an evil auto-correct.

On the plus side, the White House stationers may have kept the President Clinton letterhead.

This is that whole sow the wind, reap the whirlwind thing, isn't it? Some of those Bible dudes were pretty smart...

Holy stereotype, Batman!

Do you think that under-educated equals blue collar?

Do you think that the Tea Party is made up of only blue collar workers?

I do think that most of the people that are drawn to the Tea Party hold down what is generally considered 'blue collar' jobs. Most of those do not have collage degrees. It wasn't this way in my time, but these days, a high school diploma is under-educated. If it sounded like a stereotype, then it is not quite what I meant. I do think that it is a fair representation of the Tea Party.

I'm sure that there are some better educated Tea Party members, but I think that they would be a minority.

I think that there are all kinds of smart.
I think that a college degree doesn't guarantee smart.
I think that blue collar workers aren't all lacking college degrees or smarts.

That's my take.

Just as an aside, I don't think that levels of education guarantee character either.

Two examples: Trump and Clinton.
