I’m not saying people wanting free stuff don’t exist, as I know they do, but the Democrats I know aren’t trying to get so-called free stuff for themselves from the gov. They are gainfully employed homeowners, who are contributing members of society -- in other words, they are paying far more in income and property taxes than a certain person who is telling others what should worry "taxpayers." Most of them are unmarried, and don’t have children, so they don’t even get the socialist benefit of claiming children as dependants.

They already have college educations, so they won't directly benefit from free or subsidized secondary ed. They already have homes, so they won't directly benefit from subsidized housing. They already have lucrative careers, so they won't directly benefit from increased minimum wages. For some strange reason, they want more of their taxes to go to social programs (which, they won’t even directly benefit from), and maybe a little less towards $250,000 missiles blowing up $5 tents, building planes that can’t fly, and upgrading tanks that no one wants.

Perhaps -- and I know this is a mind-blowing stretch of the imagination -- various adherents of political ideologies and parties aren't the monolithic caricatures you believe them to be?

I feel blessed that I've earned enough money to provide not only for my own needs. But my family also, along with paying taxes to my government; tithes, and offerings to my church to help others not as blessed as I am. ldsfaq's pay's no taxes, and is a Con Artist dependent on his church to keep him alive.
