I had read that Mitt Romney had criticized Donald Trump, but I had never listened to his actual speech. I just did. Wow, he didn't just criticize Trump, he eviscerated him.
I didn't agree with what he said about Hillary, but the Trump stuff was awesome. I do wonder to what extent Mitt's anti-Hillary stuff motivated his opposition to Trump (thinking it will enable her), or whether he was that strident against her as a sort of self-defense mechanism, a shield to show fellow Republicans that he's still one of them. I don't know.
I didn't like Mitt when he ran, and I still don't like some of the stuff he says, but damn, I'd take him as Republican nominee right now over the other clowns actually running. In a New York minute.

I liked Mitt when he ran. As far as I'm concerned now he's just a loser whose compromise delivered nothing. He needs to shut up.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Well, it looks like that several GOP Primary voters have started to listen to Romney. Senator Ted Cruz recently defeated Donald Trump in the Wisconsin GOP Primary. 1 But if Ted Cruz becomes the 2016 GOP Nominee instead of Trump, he will also very likely end up losing the general election to Hillary. But with Ted Cruz as the 2016 GOP Nominee instead of Trump, I don't think that the Republicans would lose as many seats in Congress with Cruz at the top of the ticket.

It seems like the only people enamored with Romney's recent statements are people who didn't even vote for him in 2012.
