Should Republicans block Zika Vaccine Funding?
Should the Republican Congress block funding to develop a Zika vaccine? Four reasons why a Republican congress might continue ignoring the request to fund this development:
1. The Obama administration is requesting the funding.
2. Those people want to fund this "so-called" vaccination development out of tax dollars.
3. This public health concern sounds suspiciously socialistic in its intent.
4. Because they can.
One major reason they should fund this vaccine development:
1. Billionaires are also at risk.

Re: Should Republicans block Zika Vaccine Funding?
I very strongly suspect that reason number 1 is overwhelmingly the most important reason why Republicans are reluctant to approve that funding. They can't bear the thought of President Obama getting credit for accomplishing anything worthwhile. In the recent past, they have even turned down and blocked proposals that they, themselves first proposed, as soon as Obama expressed support for them also.
No precept or claim is more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

I am sick and tired of all of these mosquitos getting a free ride into the United States. We ought to build a giant mosquito net on the Mexican border and make Brazil pay for it.
I am now announcing the formation of an exploratory committee for my Presidential Campaign.

I am in favor of this so long as it has a big beautiful tent flap so that mosquitoes can enter legally, and it must have "MeDotOrg" embroidered into it in huge, ostentatious letters so we know who was behind it.

I make the most unbelievably great mosquito nets because I hire the most unbelievably great people. I will proudly put the MDO logo on our nets, because the MeDotOrg® logo is synonymous with Greatness & Classiness. Also, and we are the first company in the world to do this, we have hired some disaffected mosquitos as consultants. Their input is going to make our mosquito nets so unbelievably difficult for mosquitos to get through, many mosquitos will die of despair right there on the spot.
I am talking really great mosquito nets, you know why? Because this is the greatest country in the world, and together, we're going to prove that, one dead mosquito at a time.

Well that sounds awesome. I hope we all like the net result.

Re: Should Republicans block Zika Vaccine Funding?
Since this is obviously a huge concern for everyone, I have terrific news:
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/congress-ap ... velopment/
A day after federal officials called the Zika virus "a bit scarier than we initially thought," Congress has passed a bill to speed up the developments of drugs to treat and prevent the virus.
The legislation, passed in the Senate last month and in the House on Tuesday, would specifically add the Zika virus to a list of tropical diseases under a "priority" program. This means the FDA must respond within six months to an application for a new drug or biological product that could treat or prevent the disease.

This Yuuuge, great net should also stop those rapist mosquitoes from terrorizing our country. And, as we all know, most rapist mosquitoes are Islamic.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

The question is how are the Republicans in Congress going to pay for it? It has been noted that Republicans want to take the money for Ebola recovery to fund Zika research.
