I've used a women's restroom with men in it and nothing bad happened to anyone. I've taken my sons into the ladies room and nothing bad happened. My daughter has gone into the men's room with her dad and nothing bad happened.

In France they have toilets shared by all genders. I'm not aware of any statistic that suggests this is a increased risk way of managing toileting.
