All the US space missions were breaked long before (two weeks...) that date, feared the opportunities of Y2K problems. The astronauts were brought down; the terrestrial (hehehe, speshul Mormon word...) systems were all switched off on Earth.
Not a wonder.
At that time, NASA used 8080 processors and CP/M based op systems; or no op systems at all but embedded systems..
