Spirit Paradise Impeachment Pool, Anyone?

It seems to me the question isn't whether Drumpf will be impeached, but when. The GOP has to be strategic about it, however. They can't do it right away because of Drumpf's base. He'll have to do something first that is an appealing choice for impeachment, to get the base on the GOP's side to do it.

So it's a bit of a guessing game. I figure it makes for a good betting pool opportunity. Here's what I propose; since it's not likely anyone will pick the exact day it happens, we won't make it that narrow. We all have a good shot at naming the month, however. So, if we say you can choose any month in his four year term, that gives us 48 electoral months from which to choose. An electoral month goes from the 20th of one month to the 19th of the next (e. g. month 1 goes from Jan 20 to Feb 19, 2017).

So, to make an entry into this pool, just state a number between 1 and 48. Pick your number early, because once chosen, it's out of the pool.

You can also declare you won't be playing by saying you don't think he'll be impeached at all. Although you can't win, your declaration will be noted for the annals of Spirit Paradise.

And the prize? I dunno... bragging rights? The joy of having predicted the approximate time of Drumpf's demise as President? The ultimate title of Prince/Princess Impeachment (slight nod to Mario there)? I know that no matter who wins, if Drumpf is expelled early, everyone wins... but this might be a fun side game anyway.

I'll start it off by choosing month 22 (Oct 20, 2018 - Nov 19, 2018). It seems a bit risky to choose the month of the midterms, but I like living on the edge.

Am I really the only one here who thinks Drumpf will be impeached?

I think it's a real possibility. The GOP will have to figure out how to spin it so that they come out looking 'good'.

Agreed. That's why I think it'll take a bit of time for them to formulate their talking points before proceeding.

Genuine question. How would that process unfold realistically?

After 2016 I don't know what "realistic" means.

They'll have to wait until they get some of the things they want, then some old Senators (cough McCain) will nobly orate and pose a bit before knifing Caesar. Pence will ascend to the throne regretfully but humbly and will be crowned by Franklin Graham. The Democrats will whine and bark with much wit and talent but little effect.

I wasn't completely confident of the details myself, so I looked it up:

I'm going to take the under and say he won't be impeached at all. Is that represented by a number?

He is a 70 year old obese man who is the living personification of debauched hedonism. While he seems particularly dedicated to outsourcing aspects of his job more than previous presidents, it's still a notoriously stressful position to be in. I'm thinking there's a not insignificant chance he doesn't live through the next 4 years. If that's in the pool, I'm back in.
