I'm hoping that in the well of knowledge, and life-experience on this forum, someone can help me find some children's books.
I'm looking for some good books to help breach the subject of a step/adoptive parent not being a biological parent.
Thanks,
Stu

For what age, Steuss? I'll be out and about, but when I come back I'll look around for some. I know there are plenty for young children, particularly for foreign adoptees. I need to know the general age. I'd be happy to try to preview books and come up with something of good quality.
I'll hunt around for some for the relationship that you have described.

Re: Children's Books for Step-parents
ETA: I just looked quickly. All my own books are about a child being adopted into a family. I can't see the content of the books I just searched up. I'll try to get into a book store so I can actually read them. I won't recommend a book that I haven't read.
And I'll try another search later when I get back. If we can't find one, we can find one or two on adoption and different kinds of families. You can use those for concept development and then, you can write your own book.
I'm not joking, buddy.

ETA Again: Please PM me with the story of the child, why they are not with one of their bio parents and why they are being adopted or have been adopted. I already have something working in my head for a book. I need to know some details.

Didn’t mean to post this in Spirit Prison. Reported OP to have a mod move to Paradise.
-----------
Jersey, I’ll PM you the more precise details, but for others who may be able to help.
He is 5 years old -- in Kindergarten, but already working on 1st grade sight-words. He lives with his bio-mom, and step-dad. He has never had any contact with his bio-dad (bio-dad’s choice), and met his step-dad when he was almost 2 years old. As far as his world is concerned, his step-dad is the only dad he’s ever known. His last name was changed to his step-dad’s last name about 2 years ago.

Holy crap I have to leave in 10 minutes and I'm writing like a mad woman! I mean a story. :-) Welcome to the crazy magic that is me!
Tell me the story in PM's and let's try to work on a personalized book for the child, okay?
I'm gonna need to know what the step parent and child like to do together.
Be back later!
