You are a very nice person. Perhaps too nice.
Your are doing all the things normal people usually try to do when a political leader not to their taste takes power in a democratic country. They say things like "Well, he's sincere and thinks his policies will be good for the country. Let's give him time."
But this is not a normal president, separated from his political opponents by policy differences. Many Republicans as well as Democrats spoke the truth about him at a time when it seemed impossible that he should be elected: they pointed to his ignorance, his narcissism and his mendacity. They said explicitly that he was quite unfit for the office to which he aspired. His speech gave little reason for changing that view.
Well, you can hope that they were all wrong, I suppose. Good luck with that.
Wow Chap, what a backhanded and wordy route just to insult Jersey Girl.
On another point. ..you mention "unqualified" as if you have some authority on the notion beyond your teeth and gums. Our constitution is rather clear on the qualifications for being President, and that is by design. I understand that this is peculiar to those realms that adore the more incestuous methods of governance, but American liberty is peculiar that way. ..there is a whole "..by the people" thing we can't seem to shake.

But God-damn if we aren't going to give it the ol' college try!
ETA: Tongue-in-cheek comment aside, the US Constitution doesn't create a pure democracy, subby, and you yourself have been enjoying one of the quirks of this system in the EC as you seem to enjoy reminding people on the board. Not sure what you are really saying with this given the Brits and their Parliamentary system disperses political power more broadly than our way of doing things, and one could argue it is more adaptable to the needs of the day. Regardless, not a dick-measuring contest but your point is silly. Guess 2017's resolutions are out the window already, amiright?

Weird. My post did not contain the word 'unqualified' at all. But no doubt the COTUS does state the formal legal qualifications for standing as president, and Trump would not be president if he did not fulfil them - like being native-born, and so on.
What I did say was:

"ignorance ... narcissism ... mendacity". Yup, they make a person unfit to fill high office. The people who said that about him were right.
And it hasn't let up since he actually took office. If anything, he is ramping it up with his nonsensical claims about having more people at his inauguration than Obama. The only channel to report the claim without open mockery (which is all it deserves) was ... yes, Fox News.

Stop using me as a vehicle to insult him. Jersey Girl can take care of herself.
Thanks Jersey Girl. I think it is quite clear that what I said to you was not insulting, or intended to be. And you didn't take it that way either.
But then subgenius likes to present ... what shall we say ... "alternative facts" about the way things are. I wonder where he gets that from?

It's only an insult if it insults me. If it does, well, I'm pretty sure I can make you regret it for at least a coupla minutes of your life. Possibly longer if I put my mind to it.
