That sounds all hippie great and all...but...you got any examples ?
(Or are we to just assume that you get to decide how a free and independent press is defined?)

Nicely done Doc, I just need to know one thing...how do you go about "verifying" that which is verifiable?
Like, for example...how do you, yourself, verify the time and date for a news photograph being presented by a news agency?

The Democrats are really the only ones that care.

I am reminded of Obama's recent call for some sort of truth clearinghouse, which is more akin to Newsspeek than anything Trump is doing.
Why are you so eager to be duped by this obvious and blatant charlatan, Trump, despite his documented past record of fraud, demeaning and abusing women, pathological lying, stiffing his business associates and employees, and who is openly ushering in the most obviously corrupt administration that this nation has ever seen? Does the fact that he is so blatantly and unapologetically corrupt and self-serving somehow make him seem less dishonest and more admirable in your eyes? Do admire him for his unmitigated chutzpa and disregard for truth and decency whenever they get in the way of what he wants?
No precept or claim is more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

Your lack of focus is disturbing. ...who determines?

Oh, I'd say that (among other things) one might try correlating it with other data, such as usage of public transport facilities. If it all hangs together, one has confirmation. That's how science often works too.
And, of course, in the given case it would strengthen the hypothesis that there is no massive news organization conspiracy against Trump, just a little group of people round one mendacious individual who wants to make up his own reality, and hates to be contradicted.

No. What is really disturbing is the willful blindness to what is going on and what Trump is doing and saying exhibited by you and other Trump sycophants.

Sean Spicer is paid to tell lies present alternative facts for Trump. From his later words on this topic, I suspect he knows very well what he is doing. In a way, that is reassuring.
The worrying thing about subgenius is that he defends Trump for free. That suggests he really believes that there was a crowd bigger than Obama's first inaugural, despite all the interlocking pieces of evidence to the contrary.
For him, Trump is - despite his long record of mendacity - a lonely beacon of truth in a world where everything else is lies and conspiracy. Well, it's a point of view ...
