Perhaps, but sometimes I can't help but suspect that he is just trolling us for the satisfaction of getting a rise out of us. Some of the things he comes up with are so outlandishly silly, I find it difficult to believe that anyone who is not completely and irredeemably irrational could actually believe them. And I don't think he is necessarily irredeemably irrational. He manages to come up with quite rational and thoughtful comments at times.

But I agree that if he really believes Trump's lies, including the one about the size of the crowd, that is indeed worrying.
No precept or claim is more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.
