Amazing Statistic about Steph Curry

Post by _MeDotOrg »

I don't usually get all geeky on a sport statistic, but this one is rather amazing.

Steph Curry's 3-point shooting has changed the game of basketball. People complain that all kids now want to sit behind the 3 point line, and that's a crappy way to learn basketball. I agree. Steph Curry is a horrible role model for a young basketball player.

So having a 12 year old kid try to make 3 pointers like Curry is not a good idea. But what about for a truly great basketball player, an absolute lock for the Hall of Fame? How does Curry's 3-point shooting compare to his contemporaries?

Kobe Bryant was known for his scoring. Tonight, Steph Curry passed Kobe for 11th place on the all-time 3 pointer list.

Here’s the mind-blowing part: Curry could miss 1,375 three pointers in a row and have the same shooting percentage as Kobe.
.

So Curry got to 1,826 3-pointers with 1,375 fewer attempts than it took Kobe, considered one of the great scorers in the NBA.
