An imaginary email exchange ...

Post by _Chap »

3 June 2016
Rob Goldstone to Trump Jr
Emin [Agalarov, a Russian pop star represented by Goldstone] just called and asked me to contact you with something very interesting.

The Crown prosecutor of Russia met with his father Aras [a Moscow-based developer who tried to partner with Trump in a hotel project] this morning and in their meeting offered to provide the Trump campaign with some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary [Clinton] and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father.

This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr Trump – helped along by Aras and Emin.

What do you think is the best way to handle this information and would you be able to speak to Emin about it directly?

I can also send this information to your father via Rhona [presumably Rhona Graff, Trump’s longtime executive assistant], but it is ultra sensitive so wanted to send to you first.

Wouldn't it have been nice if the reply that Goldstone received had been:

Sir,

My father is running for the high office of President of the United States of America. He neither seeks nor does he desire, the support of the Russian government, or of any foreign state or agency whatsoever. To do so would be unworthy of the office to which he aspires - which he is determined to fill so as to represent and promote the interests of the people of these United States, in accordance with the Constitution bequeathed to us by the founders of our great nation.

I shall not waste my father' time by conveying your proposal to him, for I know that he would reject it with contempt, as would all his predecessors as candidates for that office have done, and as do I. From henceforth all relations and communications between you, my associates and my family must cease. Let me hear no more of you, or of your contemptible schemes.

I am proud, sir, to sign myself

Donald J. Trump Jr.

But in fact the reply was:

Trump Jr to Goldstone
Thanks Rob I appreciate that. I am on the road at the moment but perhaps I just speak to Emin first. Seems we have some time and if it’s what you say I love it especially later in the summer. Could we do a call first thing next week when I am back?

As someone has said: "SAD!!!!"

And not just for Trump Jr.

That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.

If Donald Trump Jr. had replied the way you suggested, I really think he would be helping to make America great.
