Downtown LA
I told EA the other day that when I got a chance I would video tape how certain areas here in So Ca are going down hill. These videos are just few block in LA, out of scores I can tape. My bigger point is it is getting more and more like this in many of the communities. LA County, Orange County, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.
Sorry for the quality, it was the first time I tried something like this...next time I will try to go slower and turn my phone sideways.
I will add to this as I go through these areas.

What do you think is the cause of it?

I don't think EA was disagreeing with you that some neighborhoods are experiencing decline or have street vendors. His primary complaint was that you incorrectly associate these with banana republics.

EA wrote:Markk described a teeming market, which is not what comes to mind when people talk about Banana Republics. A Banana Republic is a nation with a rudimentary, corrupt political system with an authoritarian head backed by a supporting oligarchy. The economy is developing and heavily dependent on a specific resource (e.g. bananas) with vast income inequality, a large underclass, and a legal system focused on enriching the corrupt ruling class.
When people talk about Trump's US becoming like a Banana Republic, what they're referring to is usually 1) farcical authoritarianism, 2) corruption, 3) wealthy rule in increasing class stratification. Remember Trump's cabinet meeting where the room went around giving ridiculous praise of Trump? That's some Banana Republic stuff right there.
A vibrant black market is not that. Markk seems to think a Banana Republic is a bunch of filthy brown people running around. He should probably add another "k" to his name and get it over with.

I gave up watching after a few minutes when I didn't see a single banana vendor.

There was a time not so long ago when places like I showed you here, and once thriving neighborhood that are in decline... were far and in between. Pride of ownership, things like manners, and respecting others were the norm. When street cleanliness was managed by the folks, and folks were taught not to litter and poop and pee on the streets.
My old neighborhood, which was once I nice and save place to live and grow up in, is nothing more that a crime infested, drug ridden mess.
We are in a regression in many of these communities, and it is growing at an alarming rate.
EA's straw man is how I used the word Bananna republic, while ignoring the context of my point.
I am going to Hollywood to day, both North and South, and downtown...I will try to take more videos...I will be in Orange county and I want to show a really amazing site where there are literally miles of the type of living conditions as I have shown on the other videos. It is basically behind the Angel stadium running north and south along the 57 freeway. It so bad that i assume the city, maybe the county, have piled a sand berm 20 feet high to try to hide the majority of the conditions. This is along a popular bike trail that runs along the Santa Ana river to Huntington beach, and the city or county provides, and I assume, a full time clean up crew and porta pottys to help keep trash and raw sewage from getting into the river basin.

That's a tough one shades...defiantly drugs, alcohol, open borders, lack of family values and having basic "moral" a upbringing, lack of the family unit. Not holding individuals responsible for their behavior. I certainly don't have a overnight solution nor can i pin point the exact cause, it is way to complicated...but I know this is a growing problem, I drive all over southern California visiting projects, and it is a consistent growing reality from San Diego to LA.
I would appreciate your opinion on what you think the cause is, and what the solution might be, at least where to start.
I know one thing that is not working, and that is throwing money at it.

You are not a very careful thinker, as this post and many of your others demonstrate. It's riddled with mistakes, and you don't seem to know what a straw man fallacy is.
Your brain is in worse shape than the streets in your videos are. This makes it impossible to take you seriously.

Well, if you aren't going to throw money at it the alternatives seems pretty clear.
1. Do nothing and watch the economic and social divide grow until we turn into Venezuela.
3. Opt for a brutal dictatorship and disappear the problem. You know. Make it go away. If you know what I mean. You know. Clean up the area. If you catch my drift. You know. Murder them.
