If it's any consolation to you, Lemmie, a large part of me hopes that when he exits the prison for the final time that someone "out there" gives him a lesson in one shot justice, and dicks him away.

But there is no part of me that could act on that hope.

why?

The second post was a continuation of the first, "I'm not done yet." Read the post I made just before that one, particularly how Christianity plays a part in the whole stream of consciousness where all of the situations seem to converge in my thinking right now.

That's why.

I read all of your posts before I commented.

Okay, good. Then you know why I said I have to believe he deserves a chance at redemption.

No, from your posts I don't think I could definitively say why you said you have to believe that, but that was not the point of my post. My point was that I disagreed that he "deserves a chance at redemption."

I know, Cam. I've already expressed the inner conflict. Please read my posts. If you have a question, feel free to ask for clarification.

Those cases have nothing to do with the current case, and the parole board would have been in deep doo doo if they would have allowed them to be considered. Hey, guys, I need some legal support here!

What needs clarification?

Stream of consciousness thoughts? Inconsistent thoughts? Inner conflict? Foundation principles of Christianity?

I'm not sure what doesn't make sense to you.

While it's true that those cases (criminal/not guilty) and civil (liable/restitution) have no bearing on this current decision (as per the parole board's statement to that effect), it's still difficult to reconcile the particulars in terms of moral dilemma. In the end, we are a nation of laws and each one of us tasked with functioning lawfully, that doesn't change the fact that you still want to see justice served and the guy either locked up for the whole 33 years (?) or dragged off into a corner and stabbed a million times and then what's left pummeled to death with a blunt force object, and what's left of that then strained through a sieve and flushed down the nearest toilet drain pipe that runs into the local sewage system.

It's also what's the word, a huge kick in the ass to the Goldman family that OJ's pension is protected from him using it to pay the damages that he owes them from the civil case.

And I'm supposed to act on certain beliefs and principles and at the same time recognize that everything I just wrote concerning what I see as his just fate puts me on par with OJ Simpson.

Nice.

And the prosecution was unable to get a conviction. Open for debate. There is no conclusive evidence.
