Aung San Suu Kyi, Nobel peace prize winner and a spiritual, if not titular, leader of Myanmar has been a great disappointment lately because of the horrific treatment of the Rohingya ethnic minority. So what happened to the woman at the center of the storm?
This is the photograph that accompanied the New Yorker article about Suu Kyi. I find it mesmerizing. For me, it just shows Suu Kyi as being above the storm that swirls around her. Depending on how you feel, that could either be seen as beatific or detached from reality.
