Space Policy Directive 1

Post by _subgenius »

President Trump has formally told NASA to send U.S. astronauts back to the moon.

"The directive I'm signing today will refocus America's space program on human exploration and discovery," he said.

Standing at the president's side as he signed "Space Policy Directive 1" on Monday was Apollo 17 astronaut Harrison Schmitt, one of the last two humans to ever walk on the moon, in a mission that took place 45 years ago this week.

No doubt Trump thinks the Mars Project will not yield a possible site for a new Trump Hotel and Casino. Wonder if this might have something to do with the VHS tape 2001: A Space Odyssey, Killing HAL 9000 lent to Trump by Bill O'Reilly.

Not sure how they will fund this when Trump and his Republican minions in Congress are already planning to end Medicaid and Food Stamps to pay for their tax gift to the 1%.

We should go back to the Moon. Especially before trying to settle Mars.

What is your criteria for "best?"

It's the biggest. And it's beautiful. Believe me.
