Trump family absentee voting

Post by _EAllusion »

Link

Trump family tried to vote absentee in the NYC mayoral election:

MELANIA: Didn't follow directions to sign envelope so her vote didn't count

IVANKA: Sent it on election day, too late

JARED: Never sent ballot

DONALD: Got his own b-day wrong by a month

Pretty funny. On a side note, the exact moment I decided to push for someone to step down from guardianship for someone else after a lengthy period of concern about dementia is when he turned in a form with his birthday off by several months. Hopefully, I guess, there's a more innocuous explanation here.

I think my link's description might be burying the lede here as the single funniest fact was Melania's handwritten letter entirely in caps.

Don't you know EA, Trump never fills these kinds of things out on his own. I'm sure his lawyer carefully crafted that absentee ballot complete with a Trump-esque misspelling or two.

Yeah, how many Trump's does it take to correctly mail in a ballot?

You know, my first thought was that maybe someone filled out the form for him. In my state, this requires a whole second layer of paperwork, which doesn't seem to have happened here. If that isn't completed, it's fraud. I wonder of New York is different. It'd be interesting to have more detail here.

Getting dates of things you should know wrong is a classic Alzheimer's sign and is used it quick tests for the condition. I occasionally joke about someone needing to make Trump do a clock-draw, but hopefully someone is actually doing that.

There is literally nothing you can post about the Trump's that could ever change their supporters' minds (at least the ones on this forum). I find this astonishing.

Joke defenses aside this just looks really off doesn't it?

Your options are essentially:

  1. Someone else filled it out but got it wrong, also possibly failed to file appropriate extra paperwork (my 2 seconds of googling didn't return a yes or no on this last half)
  2. Trump just couldn't be bothered to get his DOB correct
  3. Is literally suffering from dementia and can't remember

Pick your poison I suppose.

Wow. Hrm. Arguably the most powerful family on Earth right now, and these are my choices... I'll just go with their handlers, if they have them, are doing a terrible job. Otherwise I might be inclined to expend some emotional currency on an issue that I can't do anything about until 2019.

for what it's worth, my amateur sleuthing opinion:

It looks like Donald's application was done by someone using a PDF version of the application, and filling in the information.

In going to the site for NYC to pull an application, the version they have there isn't a version that has pre-determined fillable spaces -- it's just a scanned version of the document (link).

So, you'd have to create your own text boxes through the PDF's "Fill & Sign" function. If that's what someone did, they did a rather sloppy job of it (as evidenced by the tiny font of Donald's name, compared to the haphazard spacing on the date, and the massive bolded "NY", etc.).

My opinion is that it was likely someone either unfamiliar with Adobe, or that simply didn't care how it looks. I don't know what's involved in becoming a staffer or intern at the White House, but basic office skills seems like it'd be somewhere on the list of requirements.

In conclusion, I just wasted time on this when I could have been wasting time looking at videos of puppies.

One gets the feeling that the actual mechanics of democracy are not terribly important to the Trump's.
