This has been floating around for a bit. I think the proper reading of her comment is something to the effect of:

"Al Franken being taken down by a few accusers is BS. This could be done to anybody."

I don't read her as plotting a conspiracy of false allegations against Sanders. Rather she named Sanders because he's the darling of the people on the left who pushed Franken out.

Franken was a borderline case because what he was accused of wasn't as serious as many of the other accusations floating out there and the accusations, at least until the final straw, were more difficult to judge. On top of this, Franken was one of the more talented Democrats in the federal government. He won't be replaced by someone as good as him. This has left a segment of his supporters deeply upset that he is going down for this. I read her comment as an example of that bitterness. The generous interpretation is it being a complaint about lack of due process.

That said, I've been expecting any day now an alt-right type to manufacture false allegations of assault against a prominent liberal to own the libs and their "women must be believed" mentality. I'm a little surprised it hasn't happened yet.

Someone mentally unstable can take it seriously. For me it is not right that Franken was forced to resign in the middle of the ethics investigation, just crazy.

"Schumer calls cops after forged sex scandal charge"

So this has already happened some. So far it has been ferreted out, both in the Schumer and Blumenthal cases. That doesn't mean more cases won't pop up though.
