Apparently the Nestle and Coca Cola company are in the process of attempting to privatize the world's large aquifer, the Guarani aquifer in South America.

I have not done any research on this yet, I wanted to get it out to the teeming earth loving masses here so that they can take their own ball and run with it so to speak.

Here's a link to a petition that explains what's going on .

Little stream of consciousness rant...How do we not become cynical? We've got older folks and disabled folks trying to make ends meet on Social Security, young moms out there couponing their butts off buying 2 for 1 then selling off their surplus stock of items online to make ends meet for their family, folks worrying about their Medicaid being taken away, we're all out here like hamsters in a wheel doing what we do every single day to keep our lives going, our financial heads above water, and two major corporations are out here trying to take control of someone's [i]water supply. This proves what Carlin said. We have owners of the country and we can add to that that we have owners of the planet and none of them is us.

I believe this was already covered in the Bond film Quantum of Solace.

The Guarani Aquifer is the largest underground aquifer in the world and the third largest underground water reserve in the world. The Aquifer, named after the Guarani Peoples, lies underneath a huge region of land that stretches across Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina. It is estimated to hold enough water to last humanity 200 years, making it a valuable monetary asset to all four nation states.
