Continued Russian Election interference

Post by _EAllusion »

Admiral Rogers testified in Congress today what several others before him have also either stated or implied - Russia continues show they plan to interfere in upcoming elections, is not deterred by US countermeasures, and Trump is specifically avoiding ordering taking active steps to thwart this.

You have an ongoing pattern of Trump downplaying and misleading about Russian election interference, Trump avoiding and actively killing countermeasures to deter that interference, and Trump having used that interference to his benefit in the past and standing to benefit again in the future. This, all by itself, should be viewed as "collusion." You don't need a signed note that says, "Let's collude."

Then you have this NBC report:

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/electi ... on-n850296

They are reporting that Russia was able to compromise 7 different states voting systems in various ways, including penetrating voter registration systems, with DHS failing to properly notify those states.

Russia has essentially declared war on the US, but the GOP doesn't believe it. They haven't seen any actual weapons, so there can't be a war.

It is the epitome of irresponsible governing.

Our nation is under a cyber attack. Mueller has actually called in WAR.

And our commander in chief is doing NOTHING because to do something he feels would undermine his Presidency. This should be grounds for impeachment. I mean who ever heard of such a thing. And they called Obama a "pussy"?

You're being awfully generous to Trump here. I think it is more likely he isn't reacting to adequately deter Russia because he welcomes Russian interference on his behalf either because of direct cooperation in the past or because he, like all of us, can read the public signals.

He welcomed Russian interference straight up in full view of every one in this country, just as he admitted groping women. He is not doing anything about it now because he is in debt to the Russians for at least what they did for them in the election. Since we don't have any information on his financial holdings and he is still running them himself we don't know just what he "owes" to the Russians outside of his election debt. Trump is out of his depth with Putin.

Since their interference is favoring the republicans they probably won't want to do much about it. It's the problem when you put the party above country.

Ok, notwithstanding that this happened under Obama's watch and he did nothing about it (because the 80s called and wanted their foreign policy back)...also note - "All state and federal officials who spoke to NBC News agree that no votes were changed and no voters were taken off the rolls."

This is literally the most successful boogeyman type of campaign. For those States, the breaches had no influence on the election results...and our ability to detect the breach and the consequences of that breach remains unchanged. Again, it has become clear, by the evidence, that the intrusion into our election system by outsiders was not so shallow as to get a single person elected or not-elected but rather to allow weak minded individuals to erode the system from within. The only true threat to the "American Way" is fear, and the hair-fire brigade is certainly ablaze with that.

At best, you're an appeaser, at worst, you're a traitor.

Absolutely, he is both. Subs intentionally misses the point so he can read the script provided him by Brietbart and company. Saying Obama did nothing is a flat out lie. Obama imposed sanctions on Russia and Trump lifted them just as he promised them he would do if elected. One year into Trump's presidency the extent of Russian attacks has become all the more apparent and Trump is still sitting on his hands and poo-pooing on our Intelligence agencies' findings because he's not a real President. He has no desire to protect the American people from foreign attacks if it means it could possibly undermine the legitimacy of his election victory. Subs is an embarrassment to Americans everywhere.

"...the Obama administration took actions before and after Election Day. Prior to the election, the Obama administration publicly named the Russian government as the culprit, confronted Russian President Vladimir Putin in person, and worked to secure U.S. election infrastructure — all while intelligence agencies investigated the issue... On Dec. 29, 2016, Obama ordered 35 Russian diplomats and suspected intelligence agents to leave the United States, and he also imposed narrow sanctions on some Russian individuals and organizations." - http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter ... -barack-o/
