In before it comes out that this teacher is actually a Soros funded communist that is just a plant to show the world why teachers with guns "won't work". We all know a responsible gun owner would never do anything bad... ever. Frankly, I blame PROMISE.

UPDATE: The subject is IN CUSTODY

UPDATE: Students are being taken to the Nw GA Trade and Convention Center. Parents should rendezvous with their students there.

Dalton Police officers are on scene at Dalton High School responding a report of shots fired. At the time, there is a barricaded subject in a classroom. Investigators believe it is a teacher. NO CHILDREN. HAVE BEEN INJURED. NO CHILDREN ARE IN DANGER. The area inside the school has been evacuated and there are no students believed to be in the school at this time. The school is locked down. DPD and Georgia State Patrol are responding.

PARENTS DO NOT COME TO DALTON HIGH. Students will be taken to the Northwest Georgia Trade Center. Parents should go there.

According to a live interview with local news a teacher is explaining that this guy Randall Davidson ( a Social Studies teacher since 2004 and sports announcer for their football team )locked himself in a room refusing to let students in and the principle tried opening it with a key, at which point the teacher fired a shot out the window. It took cops 45 minutes to calm him down and convince him to surrender. One student hurt her ankle during a panicked evacuation.

No, no, no. First we have to arm the teachers to protect the students from other students. Then, we have to arm the students to protect them from the teachers. Jumping straight to arming the students without arming the teachers first won’t maximize gun sales, which is the most important thing.

Somebody needs to call the idiot in the White House and tell him now is the time to put up or shut up about walking into a school to face an armed person.
