No Collusion Senate Republicans Declare

Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee announced Monday they found no evidence that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia and that they are shutting down their yearlong investigation.

Why did it take an entire year when such a partisan conclusion could have been issued within an hour on the first day?
Democrats say there are still scores of witnesses the committee should call, and argue that Republicans have failed to use subpoenas to obtain documents and require witnesses to answer questions that are central to the investigation.

Will the denial of the obvious help or hurt Republicans in upcoming elections? Suppose they could take a page from the apologists and together with this denial, also declare all further evidence as coming from the Adversary or apostates.

No one knows, but the Democrats are going to have to play politics on this issue just like the Republicons played politics on Benghazi.

I don't think this gets across just how brazen what they are doing is. They also concluded, bucking the intelligence community's findings, there is no evidence that Russia attempted to aid Trump, of which there is ample evidence well beyond a reasonable doubt available to the public. They're betting that people are too confused and partisan to follow what's going on.

It's traitorous behavior and we can only hope when justice comes they are thought of and treated like the traitors that they are.

(This article has this tidbit, "The report will go further and suggest that to the extent that any Russians acted on behalf of either candidate, it was for Hillary Clinton.")

Robert Mueller is the ultimate arbiter of the collusion question. I think the Republicans who backed the easy way out might have something for which to answer in the November Midterms. If Mueller comes out with a convincing argument for collusion, the Republicans will look like gullible dupes, willing to sacrifice truth for the benefit of Donald Trump.

Hey, if you don't look for something, it is amazing what you won't find!

Yeah, at this point I would rather eat crap and die than vote Republican. This is a dead brand as far as I am concerned. I will leave it to those who lack a conscience or a brain to defend this BS.

The GOP just shut down a congressional investigation, leaving questions unanswered, leads unexplored, countless witnesses uncalled, & subpoenas unissued. This is straight up treason. Not that that matters to Trump supporters... If the Russians do have leverage over the President of the United States, the GOP majority has simply decided it would rather not know.

Thank god the Repubs conducted, I think, NINE investigations regarding Benghazi, right?

After they cut funding to the security of international US facilities, no less. So they make out both ways. They gut the government, then blame the lady and the black guy for not protecting what they wouldn't fund.

That's top shelf chicanery right there!

It's so obvious Republican politicians think little of their base. In fact, they must have contempt for their base. Their hypocrisy is glaring, and yet they know the lemmings will keep coming back for more.

I dislike the GOP, but it's their base that really deserves a collective kick in the nuts for being so blind and stupid. People talk about how calling right wingers stupid is what drove them to Drumpf - I disagree. That's an idiotic post hoc argument. They were already stupid enough to find their level. They needed no encouragement.

GOP Rep. Tom Rooney Breaks Ranks On Russia Report: ‘We’ve Lost All Credibility’

I'm curious to know how many people left the Obama administration because they couldn't handle having to constantly lie all the time...

ICE Spokesman Quits

“I quit because I didn’t want to perpetuate misleading facts,” Schwab said. “I asked them to change the information. I told them that the information was wrong, they asked me to deflect, and I didn’t agree with that. Then I took some time and I quit.”
