Trump on Fox & Friends is a scary piece of history

The histories written, scholarly tomes that will analyze the history of the Trump administration, will sooner or later have to address what happened on Fox & Friends on Thursday. If you have not seen it,
I urge you watch the whole 30 minutes. if you're impatient,
just watch the last 3 minutes, but realize your watching only the last 3 minutes of 30 minutes.
More than once, he starts a sentence to make a point, but pivots to free associate to another point of anger or grievance that he cannot shake. Donald Trump believes his Presidency deserves an A+ so far. Clinton got the debate questions. He played to win the electoral college, if he needed to he could have won the popular vote. No one thought he could get to 270. As the ranting continues, The Fox Gang increasingly looks like deer in the headlights as they gently try to steer the Dear Leader away from the
Cliffs of Insanity..
How destructive was the interview? Later on that day, prosecutors in the Southern District of New York quoted him, describing his relationship with Michael Cohen as only being a 'tiny tiny part' of his legal services, blowing much of the attorney-client privilege argument out of the water.
Trump has lost a lot of his inner circle, and with the handlers having less influence on him, he is breaking free. One thing that is clear after listening to the video: Trump will never change. He will never see that he made any mistakes. All of what is happening to him is someone else's fault. Finally Brian Kilmeade interjects, trying to get the President to stop: "Mr. President, we could talk to you all day, (Trump interject "You could") but we know you have a million things to do." They are trying to drag the President off the stage before he does any more damage.
Trump is clearly not in control of his emotions. The "no filter" aspect of Trump that his supporters found so appealing is now beginning to unravel.

Ostensibly, people voted for Drumpf thinking he'd be a wrecking ball in Washington, breaking down corrupt institutions. It seems to me the biggest thing he's destroyed is whatever's left of his reputation.
It's like having to watch your crazy uncle slowly but completely lose his mind in his twilight years, and just wanting to keep him away from the public as much as possible, because you're embarrassed about this aspect of the human condition. And you know you have to try to keep him away from other people because he's become too nuts to realize what's good for himself anymore.
At least, that's what it's like for a person living in the real world. Drumpf's fans, on the other hand, will find a way to ignore/spin it so that it's "not such a big deal." It can't be a big deal, because otherwise they'd realize what a massive mistake they made supporting him. They'd rather go down with the ship and their demented captain.

the guy is a showman, always has been and always will be, you are gullible and place to much meaning on this "tv" appearance....in fact, what is the other hand doing while this hand acts up on Fox?

Not really, it is still chuggin along...havok is what was wanted in the beltway and havok has arrived...i think the fascist Schmo made a solid point with how the status quo has been disrupted...record numbers of congress-people are leaving office (retiring) and the old way of politics (a.k.a. the Clintons' way) is turning to rubble. Even the executive office is being exposed for the titular cult it had become (especially under Obama).

The President of the United States gives a 30-minute impromptu speech to his favorite show. Your response it that he is a showman and that we are gullible for placing meaning on what he says? It remains to be seen if the Southern District of New York was gullible when they included Trump's remarks in their arguments. I doubt Judge Kimba Wood will be swayed by the argument that what Trump said should be discounted because he is a showman.

And the moral of this narrative is what, exactly? That havoc will Make America Great Again? That the only thing that stood between America and her former greatness envisioned by the President is the dismantling of regulations and government agencies?
I saw an interview with Maggie Haberman, the New York Times reporter who has covered Trump for many years. She observed that Trump's ideas are still peppered with icons of the 1980's, giving the example of his many references to Time Magazine. She thinks this is when his identity was formed, in the Go-Go 80's world of Manhattan real estate and a political structure that could be manipulated by the powerful. Those ideas have carried over to how he governs the United States. He is behaving as if he is Mayor of the United States, and he his puzzled when he can't just fire the police chief. He has done all of the things that he did in both Real Estate and Television: schmooze, charm, cajole, plead, and threaten. None of it has worked. For Trump, this is not the way the game is supposed to be played. His frustration is palpable.

Is this the one where he disclosed that Cohen worked for him on the Stormy Daniels case? Avenatti is all over that.
Thanks for the link, I'll listen to it later.

I liked how Fox and Friends were finally able to break away from Trump by reminding him that he had a job he needed to get ready for. That way they could air a more serious segment on breakfast barbecues.
Would have thought Fox would be more appreciative of a disjointed rant from the President.

Trump goes on a long winded unhinged rant, loaded with bogus claims and conspiracy theory and substupid dismisses it as showmanship?
This is a classic example of someone with their hair on fire.

The payment to silence Daniels just before the election appears to be an illegal campaign expenditure, regardless of who paid for it. If Trump knew he was part of violating campaign law, that would be criminal. Previously he had tried to claim he didn't know what Cohen was doing, which might have been cover. But here he said that he knew Cohen was representing him in the "deal" as he put it, so he's back on the hook for that.
Also, he has lawyers in court in NY trying to argue that federal prosecutors should have essentially zero access to the documents, phones, computers, etc. that they seized from Cohen on the basis that he was the President's lawyer and attorney-client privilege is so important here that none of the material should be examined, it should all be returned to Cohen and the prosecutors should forget about anything they might have seen.
But during the call in to Fox News, Trump himself said that Cohen really didn't do much legal work for him at all. That means that very little of Cohen's material would be privileged as attorney work product for Trump (even if that stood), based on Trump's words there.
If (and we don't yet know for sure) Trump and Cohen collaborated on any number of illegal activities (money laundering, fraud lying to buyers, bank fraud lying to lenders/investors, violating campaign laws in coordinating with Russia for valuable assistance during the election, so-called "conspiracy to defraud the United States" due to their actions related to Trump's candidacy, and others) and Trump screwed up the claim his lawyers were trying to make in court that very day.
TL;DR - Trump "incriminated himself" by helping the prosecutors to have access to all of the material seized from Cohen because he's a dolt.

The similarities between Trump in the presidency and Joseph Smith in Nauvoo are staggering.

President Trump also claimed during that Fox and Friends interview that he would rather have Presidential elections based on the popular vote. And I agree with him on this issue.
http://thehill.com/homenews/administrat ... he-popular https://www.politico.com/story/2018/04/ ... ote-555148 ETA: It would not have been easier for Trump to have won the popular vote.
