Idiot Trump: Canada Burned Washington

What a face palm of a President this guy is...

President Donald Trump is getting scorched on Twitter after he reportedly accused Canada of setting fire to the White House during the War of 1812.

During a phone conversation on May 25, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau asked Trump how tariffs against his nation’s steel and aluminum could be justified in the name of U.S. national security, as the president claimed.

“Didn’t you guys burn down the White House?” Trump said, according to CNN and the CBC.

Canada, a British colony at the time, did not become a nation until 1867.

Canadians often do ― at times mockingly ― take credit for burning Washington in 1814 as it was in retaliation for the United States burning York, present-day Toronto, the previous year.

Trump probably got that information on a late night call with Sean Hannity. Otherwise, he would not have known about the War of 1812.

Trump didn't learn about the war of 1812, because he was studying all 12 Articles of the Constitution.

Actually, not that you would ever learn about your own posts, Canada did not accomplish patriation until 1982 (under Trudeau's father), so that would be their official "nation" becoming (and great source you cited where the author does not know the difference between a colony and a province...Canada a "colony") ....but I am sure that fine public school you attended learned you real good on the war of 1812 (bet you a sawbuck that you did not even know that the White House burned during that war...which makes you dumber than Trump  ...but please, mock him from your position of ignorance on the matter.)

Aside from that clearly Trump's comment is feeding the hair-fire, but dat's kool because you seem to be distracted from the real issues where, because of your superfluous posts, the #winning is happening.

To be fair, it might have been an honest question. “Didn’t you guys burn down the White House?” is the type of question you ask a Canadian tour guide when you have a limited knowledge of the war of 1812, other than it had something to do with Canada. However, it's probably not a good question for the actual President of the United States to ask the actual Prime Minister of Canada. Trump should have done a quick wikipedia search first, or asked Barron.

Perhaps he could remember the events that lead up to the United States declaring war on Great Britain in the War of 1812 through the use of the mnemonic saying, "Tippecanoe and Subgenius too".

What is being ‘won’?

I don't read Trump as asking a question...it seemed more akin to an admonishment to Trudeau's rather indignant (and adolescent) question.

If you judge Trudeau’s question as ‘adolescent’, how is Trump’s response not as, if not more, adolescent? : )
