Opening a thread for folks to share thoughts, criticisms, comments, venting. Trump and KJU have both arrived for this historic summit. I know this could result in a breakthrough that changes everything for the positive. I also know it could go down in history of the mother of all disasters. I feel slightly sick.

I’m skeptical that much will be accomplished, but I really don’t expect a disaster. At least it will be short.

I'm hoping Kim takes Drumpf as a prisoner of war for the next 8 years (or 80... whatever). That would be awesome. Then we'll see of what he thinks of people who get captured.

Observation. First greeting, handshake, sit down welcome, and walk into the building. Trump's posture, demeanor, facial expressions, and gesturing were very paternal. Hospitable.

I'm obviously no fan of Trump, but so far this summit appears to be going well. I genuinely hope something positive comes out of these talks, and I'll give Trump all the credit he deserves.

Me too. Like I said...

I would totally give Drumpf credit for getting captured... for the sake of the country. Unlike him, I think prisoners of war have made a huge sacrifice. I can't imagine anything I'd appreciate from him more.

Whatever happens, Trump will call it the greatest and most accomplished and most successful meeting in the history of all meetings and his State propaganda station (a.k.a. FOX) will toe the line and report accordingly.
What we already knew beforehand is that Trump had no plans about discussing Kim's human rights violations. Any agreement to disarm nukes is a plus, but should come with serious caution since this guy is known for not only murdering his own people, but also reneging on agreements.
