How long before religions make use of virtual reality and immersive experiences? What might that look like?

Can we be sure that no religions are already doing that?

Don't churches already do this to a degree? Light shows and spirit band; and pageants and such...or were you thinking cutting edge digital tech like the inevitable next step for how an architect sells his/her product?:

"not long, not long at all".

CGI temple ceremonies. CGI raptures and healings. CGI Catholic communions where you see the wafer actually turn into the body of Christ. Mmmmm.

Wait... isn't religion already a virtual reality?
Or am I getting the word "virtual" mixed up with "alternate?"

But to answer your question, what might that look like?

Remember the hi-tech felt boards?

Wasn't exactly virtual reality.
Maybe someone will figure out how to monetize a religion into an online game. Of course you could argue that
World of Warcraft is an online religion. What form will televangelism take in the 21st Century?

You mean like walking into The Plan, Inc and paying to experience a virtual life in the planet earth (with optional upgrades for valiance credits)? Sure sounds better than waiting around for Fallout 5.
