...that count.
This story isn't huge per se or controversial, but these sorts of #winning will matter in November.
North Korea turned over what are believed to be the remains of 55 U.S. service members who were killed during the Korean War of the 1950s on Friday local time, the 65th anniversary of the armistice that ended the fighting, the United States and the United Nations said.
A U.S. cargo aircraft flew to Wonson, North Korea, to receive the remains and returned to Osan Air Base, South Korea, the unified U.N. Command for Korea and U.S. Forces Korea said in a statement

So I suppose these are additional to the 200 sets of remains Trump told us had already been sent after he got back from meeting Kim in Korea?

This will be of great relief to the thousands of supercentenarians who asked Trump to bring their sons home.
Seriously though, I think this is really cool. After we were snubbed at the DMZ, and the promised 200 never happened, I admittedly didn't think any would be returned. I am glad I was wrong.

Kim:
"Heh. We promised them hundreds! Then we stood them up at the DMZ. Their President made a fool of himself because he believed what I said. Now I give them just 55 boxes ... containing what, you may ask. And they are so pleased.
And this is what they get for suspending their war games in the South. This is what they get for their President coming all the way to see me.
It really feels good to humble the world's most powerful nation like this! I'll throw them a few more crumbs soon, and watch them sit up and beg!"

I don't believe for a second that a man who feeds children to dogs is going to safeguard the remains of Americans so they can be transported back decades later. They're probably laughing their asses off in N.Korea right now. God knows what kind of ashes these are.

So your position is that the US military is woefully unaware of this sort of "fraud" and all those decades of soldier DNA cataloguing? You think the families of these remains are just gonna be like "whatever".
Regardless, the vote in November wont be won by cynicism.

I hope for much more simple things...like hoping someone would read the OP cited article before inserting cynical inferences :
The remains were accompanied by technical experts from the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, the White House said.
The return is part of an agreement reached during the June summit between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The transfer sets off a lengthy series of forensic examinations and tests to determine whether the remains are human and whether they are actually U.S. or allied troops who were killed in the conflict.

I find your trust in dictators who have lied to us before to be ...
optimistic. Apparently, the
other folks out there who
care rather than merely
hope are taking the precaution of using the services of technical experts and forensic examiners to ensure that the remains are what they are claimed to be. I guess that they’re as
cynical as Miss Tish given that they seem to have the same mindset.
