It includes money laundering, tax fraud, failing to disclose foreign bank accounts, and acting as an unregistered lobbyist for pro-Russian politicians in Ukraine. On a second count, for conspiracy to obstruct justice, concerns attempts to tamper with witnesses related to Manafort's foreign lobbying.
So, thus far we have EVERYONE around Trump's campaign balls deep with the Russians, and yet our Trumpists still don't seem to be able to muster up any sort of care about just how deeply treasonous this is. I'm curious, do Trumpists still believe Trump had no idea Russia was involved in the 2016 election?

The current reports say there is a cooperation agreement in place. That's the big news today.
On a smaller note, they got 46 million in asset forfeitures, which more than pays for the investigation. That should lay waste to the "the investigation is too expensive" argument against it.

Haha.
The President's legal team put out an initial statement that said, "The President did nothing wrong. Paul Manafort will tell the truth." Moments later thet put out a revised statement that said, "The President did nothing wrong."
You can almost see the walls closing in.

The talking heads I'm listening to just now are saying Manafort has completely flipped, with a cooperation agreement in place. I guess he decided the safe bet was to take the hit with Mueller as apposed to trusting Trump... and a hinted at pardon.
I'd say my money is looking pretty safe just now. That is, I have 3 $100 bets with different trumpster friends of mine, that Trump will not hold the office of President come 2020 election.
Would anyone else like to donate?

I was thinking Manafort was going to go to trial, try to drag it out, and upon conviction at some point in 2019 secure a pardon from Trump. I'd be really curious to know what the FBI told him, as far as his future goes, that would cause his to flip on Trump. In other words, is the FBI going to just line up a series of trials that would take him past 2020, where he would then risk Trump losing the election and then facing life in prison? That's what I'd do if he didn't cooperate. He'd still have to serve ten years or whatever, but the choice between supermax and a country club would be his to choose.

I didn't think Manafort was going to flip. Now that the details of the cooperation argument are out, Mueller rolled him so hard and he completely flipped.
It's set up to be pardon proof. It's another example of how impervious the Mueller investigation has been to leaking any information it doesn't want out.
Trump is starting to look legitimately screwed. This is a very big news day.

Yeah but the Right Wing line has been that Mueller is a thug who is forcing people to say things, and lie, just to tell him something he wants to hear in order for them to stay out of jail. That's what they have been saying all along with Cohen and Pappodopulous so i don't expect them to veer off that strategy here.

What evidence do you have that Manafort will implicate Trump?... implicate Trump in
anything at all?
this sounds just like the "oh, Cohen flipped, now its over!"....geez

The right wing propaganda machine is always going to have a dishonest response, but the investigation itself clearly is trudging along nailing people to the wall and collecting damning information. What's out in public is already incredibly damning, and you can definitely see where this is going now.
At the end of the day, the question of impeachment is a political one dependent on public opinion applying pressure and any integrity left within the Republican party. It's possible that literally nothing will touch Trump because you can't get enough Republican Senators to break ranks and vote the man out, but what you can do is expose the depths of his betrayal of the public trust to the public. I'm increasingly confident that it is only a matter of time. Whether that leads to him being voted out of office is another question entirely.
If there's an easy to digest summary of what occurred in the public mindset before 2020, even just connecting the dots on what we already know, Trump is going to be quite politically damaged. Republicans are going to have a tough calculation on what to do about that if his clogged arteries don't kill him first. If that times with a recession, which is a distinct possibility, Republicans are going to be absolutely destroyed on the eve of a election that plays a major role in determining the next round of redistricting. That's a heck of a dice roll. Not getting him out of office might be taking a devastating loss. Now is the time to avoid that taint, but it's a catch-22 if you wait too long. Can't piss off the base; can't ride with Trump as captain of the party. They might as well be tying an anchor around their neck assuming we still have free and fair elections.
President Pence will sign their bills too.
