I'm not hating, but is it ironic that she calls this 10 city book tour "an intimate conversation "?
(note, the Barclays Center holds about 17,000 people)
Last week, Michelle Obama announced her nationwide book tour of “Becoming,” her first memoir. But when tickets went live on Friday, fans freaked out at the sky-high prices, which are as expensive as going to a Beyoncé concert.
Nosebleed seats start at $30, while front-row seats go for $3,000 and include a pre-show photo opportunity with the former first lady, a signed book, and other “VIP” gifts. To put it in perspective, VIP tickets to Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s “On The Run II” tour are $1,000.
“Michelle Obama is out here selling Beyoncé priced tickets and I was not prepared,” one user wrote on Twitter, followed by a crying emoji.
“This is for the upper-middle to upper class only,” tweeted another Obama fan. “The rest of us can’t swing $200 for one ticket.”(emphasis mine)

Do you think she determines what prices people pay for a ticket?

That's an odd question.

He is trying to attack her, but I suspect like most celebrities they are not the ones to determine how much to ask people to pay. Is that too hard to understand?

Mostly, yes. Or do you think she is being "handled" and, as a lawyer, she just poorly negotiated her book deal?

Subgenius, what is your take on those $500,000 a plate fundraising/influence peddling dinners held by Republicans?
By the way, is there any way that Melania Trump could borrow this speech for later use?

What does the book deal have to do with ticket prices? There is way more to do then she could do alone so most details of celebrities are figured out by other people. I think ticket prices would be one of those.

You don't think Michelle Obama can negotiate how much the promoter takes, how much she takes, how much the venue takes to ensure prices are within reach of the poorest in the circuit?

I'm not saying she cannot be involved, but I would think things like ticket prices are determined by others that work for her as well as the other groups involved in putting on these events.
